Abeka Investigating Gods World Grade 5
Enjoying this book thoroughly is my 10-year old who is in grade 5. The subjects (such as what light is; how we see light; the earth and its layers; different rocks/metals that are found in the earth; different mammals, marsupials, amphibians, insects; flowers, and plants; planets and stars, etc) are well-explained and thoughtfully written for the age group in mind.Lots of great photos, and some "try it at home" experiments are suggested for the more organized readers.I am a Christian, so I also appreciate the perspective that this book is written from, which is Creation Science. My child has enjoyed going over the chapters, learning and getting a good briefing on the many subjects of science. One thing to note is, I don't know how a person could take this for an entire school year, though. The size of the book is certainly more like a semester-sized book. We've been going through it for only 3 months and we have 2 chapters left (there are only 9 chapters in all).Otherwise, it's a great book for fifth graders!
