Great product for the price -- but I'd recommend upgrading some of the parts.
Great product for the price -- but I'd recommend upgrading some of the parts. It still gets 5-stars because you can not buy just the cable from Home Depot for less than 50-cents a foot. Based on other reviews I planned ahead and bought a heavy duty porch swing spring to replace the spring it came with. I also added a turnbuckle to tension the wire. The install was very easy.Hopefully the plastic pulley system will hold up.

Works Perfectly!
Bought this product to allow my foster dogs more room to run since I currently do not have a fence. My current foster dog is an active Pitbull mix who weighs right around 45lbs.This kit includes: 100ft cable with spring attached to one end, 10ft runner line with attached plastic pulley, two open ended eye screws, two plastic stoppers, and two wire clamps. The 100ft cable has a loop on one end that is connected to the spring, and the other is a raw end. I attached this trolley between a large tree and a wood post, I put an eye screw into the tree to attach the loop and spring end of the cable and wrapped the raw end around the post which was then secured with the included wire clamps. it was easy to install and only took about 30mins with two people. With one person working to pull it tight and the other putting on the clamps, it worked well and there is very little sag in the line. I used about 95ft of the cable to reach between the two attachment points, the extra was wrapped around the post. I used everything included except the plastic stoppers which were too small to fit onto the cable, but they weren't really needed anyway, so it is not a concern. It was put up yesterday, (1/12/17) and held up well against strong wind and heavy rain that happened shortly after being put up. The pulley works well, does not catch and runs along the line smoothly when my dog moves. The line is thick and seems high quality. My dog has done well on it so far and even with several strong attempts to pull outside of the line's reach, it remains in place. Very happy with this product so far, I will update here in a few months after it has been used more.UPDATE 10/5/17: Been using this for just under 10 months now and am still completely satisfied with this product. It has held up to multiple active foster dogs since being installed in January. Some surface rust has developed on the metal parts, but it continues to function perfectly. The plastic pulley still works, and looks great and runs along the cable without problem. I am very happy with this product, it is perfect to allow my foster dogs a little extra space to run when outside. I have no doubt this excellent product to last for many years to come!

Awesome Product....be thoughtful of placement for dumber dogs
The setup took 5-10 minutes and we were done. No extra parts needed, which is nice. My dog has been using this system for a month now and we are very pleased. Literally no issues with the product. One thing to consider is placement of each end of the wire cord. If you use a post or tree, be advised that some dogs will get tangled around the post and won't be able to figure out how to untangle themselves. My dog is particularly dumb, and he ends up tangled on the post nearly every time he's on the lead.

Not bad to start with but end user might want to upgrade it.
Overall I like the kit and for the money it is worth it in parts. After reading all the reviews and some of the negative end results along with the failure pictures. I came up with my own "fix it before it breaks" plan. For the wire pulling out of the forged wedges I added a 3/16 crosby clamp/ home depot number 140 252 Wire rope clip and thimble sets to each place the factory clamped ends were connected. (prevention) for the cable ends I opted to use through the tree 1/2 shank X 12" long eye bolts with screw down c clamps so nothing can pull out. The best advantage to using the long eye bolts (just get the threads started and plan the job so you can take advantage of the extra threads to help tension the cable when your ready) are after I pulled the cable as tight as possible (100 feet) with a helper I used the two crosby clamps that were included in the kit to lock it down (helps to use a liquid soap when pulling it through the ends to not be fighting the friction and keep the cable covering free from damage. Than I ran up the eye bolts that went through the tree to a point the cable stood straight across and taught. (not to tight but just stays straight) Also it will streach after a while and may need to be snuged up again) So far so good. I have a 12 month old 98 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix with all the energy a puppy has to offer pulling on it with no issues. We do not leave him unattended for many reasons. 1. He may end up pulling the trees down 2. Even with the main wire at over 7 feet off the ground the cable does tend to get caught up under him and were watching so he does not injure himself. 3. We us it only with a body harness also.

Good price, good product **EDIT-FAULTY**
One of my dogs is every bit of 100 pounds, and really stupid. He once ran full speed and broke through a wooded privacy fence. I understand that when hooking it up you may have your doubts (recoil spring seems weak, hook does tend to move around) but I have not needed to augment anything. It has taken the weight of my dog at full speed with no problems.**Edit** I have replaced this once due to crimping and resulting rust. I do not fault the product for that, but today the cable-in visibly and physically good condition-snapped at the connector. FYI.

100 pounds my butt.
Bought this thing in November and, boom! Broke in February. Doggo, 20 pound beagle, went bolting after a squirrel and pop went the clasp.

This is a decent dog run but it has some ...
This is a decent dog run but it has some issues. After one year, here's some feedback.First, the pulley is so large and the gap the cable goes through is so wide that it rolls right over the nylon stop rings. It then can get hung up on the tension and mount hardware leaving your dog stuck on one end up the run. The cable also has enough room to jump out of the pulley groove and get caught along side the pulley. This locks the lead up and again, leaves your dog stuck. I ultimately bought a smaller, all metal pulley and a quick link from a local hardware store and replaced the pulley the kit came with to solve the problems.

Missing parts
Missing every part other than the two cables.... no hardware/ mounting parts. Torn up packaging... was obviously a return that wasn’t properly checked. After taking longer than the check out said it would to arrive, this package is completely pointless and needs many parts to make work. Not worth my time and effort to return, and amazon call request option doesn’t work... disappointing. Off to the hardware store to buy the parts I need.......

Pulley?
Only rated as 3 stars, due to the fact that the pulley is not very durable. Paying this much for a run, you would assume the pulley would withstand the weight of the dog...unfortunately this is not the case. I would not reorder.

Missing pieces
We got this run today and all of the hardware was missing! The main cable was there but the screw hooks, clamps and protective stoppers were missing. I looked everywhere to try and contact sellers directly and couldn’t find the option to do so.

Excellent..
Most trolley runs are only 50 ft. but we needed 88 ft. and this worked really well from one end of our yard to the other. Our Buddy is free to roam within our property and is happier now.

works as advertised
Great bit of kit. The only concern is rust as some of the bits will suffer under the weather in Canada.
