Homesick Scented Candle, Nashville

Let us begin with why I call this candle meta. My justification is because, much like the fair city, this candle is loud and unsure of itself in terms of personality. So, yes, the “personality” of the candle matches Nashville, but not the scent. In other words-do you like maple? Do you want your house to smell like vaguely maple so you wonder if there was syrup spilled or you had a stroke? Then by all means, buy this candle. Just don’t think it will smell like anything associated with Nashville.First, after burning this for a while, I will say the throw is excellent-maybe not a great thing here. The scent profile is vaguely maple and…nothing else identifiable, unlike the bergamot and other notes they swear exist in this candle.Secondly, my instinctive refusal to see this candle as “Nashville” in scent is justified because there are many aromas that one can associate with the city, none of which are in this candle. DO NOT buy this candle for a Tennessean, Nashvillian or anyone actually homesick. This candle represents no scents associated with our state or city. Honeysuckle, hops, hickory smoke, tobacco, leather, river, cherry blossoms-I can go on, these are scents I associate with the state and city.So in summation-scent profile,vaguely reminiscent of Busch’s maple bacon baked beans (or as my husband so succinctly said “Have they ever been to Nashville?”)-throw is great-value medium-kind of pricey, based on jar size

This candle smells terrible! I mean TERRIBLE! I can’t even give it one star. We burn candles in our home almost every day and this one has been relegated to the porch but we’re not sure we can stand it even outside.

I've lived in Nashville for a decade and the only thing I think this smells like is the floor of the Hermitage Cafe. Gross.

Packed safely... packaging is very nice...I’m giving this as a gift and it looks great!
