technique is everything
Some tips on use:strip back 1.5" of jacket and remove pull stringorder wires by T568B color codecut ends of wires just to make them equal length, leaving lots of excessThe wire guide has a side with solid plastic and a grooved side for puncturing the contacts through. Orientate so the smooth surface is away from you when the orange wires (pin 1) are to your left and cable dangles down/toward you..slide guide over wires as far down as you cancut wires flush with end of guideinsert the guide and CAT5/6 UTP into the plug as far as it will go. The plastic guide will be under the contacts when inserted. If it does not go in, the guide might be backwards.Crimp the connectorTest your cable.

Hard to use, but a quality product.
I've terminated 30 of these guys. They are challenging to use, but you need to understand why you would use these over a simple pass through crimp RJ45 connector. The use of the load bar allows you to maintain you twisted pairs as far as possible. This helps preserve your signal integrity. Does the 0.5in within the connector really matter that much? No, it really doesn't, but some people are purists and if you're trying for 10G which you can get over short runs with CAT6, maybe it matters a little. It might matter more if you have a lot of EMF noise in your environment.Take a look at my attached photo. You can do almost as good maintaining your twisted pairs using a passthrough connector, but that takes some effort and at that point it's really not much faster or easier than these connectors with their load bars. If you're ok with all the wires within the connector being straight runs (untwisted) then a passthrough is a heck of a lot easier and faster. Quality wise, I had no issues with these. The load bar is a little tight with the conductors in my cable, 23AWG solid, but it's going to depend on your conductors and insulation. I have two different crimp tools and both drove down the contact points until they were nice and flush. Cables have tested out on 1G speeds just fine. If that changes, I will update my review.

Orient the load bar slots so the connectors pass through when crimped and clip the wires close
I read a lot of the reviews and saw that some people had trouble with these connectors. My first few attempts were unsuccessful then I stumbled on a YouTube video were they said to clip the wires very close to the load bar. That made all the difference. I have used these successfully since and they work great. Also one side of the load bar has slots that the connectors pass through when they’re crimped so you need to orient them correctly. They work great.

READ THIS BEFORE BUYING !!! YOU MAY BE HORRIBLY SORRY.
This is by far the worst product I ever purchased on Amazon, hands down, no contest. Not only bad, but in fact dangerous to your equipment. These should not only be banned from selling on Amazon, they should re-call all that are out there. The problem is that they don't crimp correctly. Yes, I am using a high end, ratcheting RJ45 8P8C crimper, of which I have no other problems with other connectors. See the crimper here. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085S7VJLS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Read the reviews on these connectors and you will see others with the same complaint. First, the crimp does not go down all the way. If you look at the side view of the RJ45, you can see the piercing tabs on the contact don't penetrate well into the wires. Leaving you with an "iffy" connection at best. But wait, the worst is yet to come. After creating a couple of cables, I of course plugged them into my network cable analyzer, and it ruined my equipment. I'd like to sue this company for a replacement of what is a pricey piece of test equipment. The problem is the contacts are not flush after the crimp. If you look at a side view, you can see the gold contacts sticking up beyond the individual channels of plastic. Thus, when pulling them out of my cable analyzer, the contacts on my analyzer jacks got hung up and mangled. The repair was not easy. The analyzer is a quality piece of equipment (not like this junk), and the jacks are mounted on a multi layer, double sided PCB. It takes a professional de-soldering station and luckily my 40 years of experience to do it right, and a lot of patience. Three jacks in total, all got mangled by these low end, out of spec connectors. You can see this in the forensic photo after removing the jack.So I bought the "True-crimp" brand of the same load block style connectors, to see what happens. They crimp perfectly! Same crimper, same cable, same technique. No, I am not affiliated or endorsed by them in any way. I am just telling you my true experience. Quality vs el-cheapo junk. I am not big on throwing money in the trash, but I literally threw this whole bag into the trash in the alley!

Pass the test
I have used a lot of RJ45 connectors over the years in my field and these are by far the best I've ever used. The load bar is pass-through but the connector itself is not, which works well. I have a number of crimpers and they have worked in all types we have. These snap and lock into patch panels, routers, switches, etc., like you want.Pros:+ Load bars w/pass through+ Easy to load+ Easy to identify load bar direction with the grooved top edge.+ Load bar loads easily into the plug+ Bonus punch down tool for those that need one...Cons:+ Not many if any extra load bars...

Didn't work for me
Bought these as I needed to run a cat 6 cable up into the loft. I've used a lot of cat 5 connectors in the past (some good one, some not so good) and although it's not my trade, I'm know how to fit them. I bought these on the understanding you couldn't use cat 5 connectors for cat 6 cable. Anyway, long story cut short. Ran the cable connected these ends, no signal. Reconnected these ends, same again. After third attempt I thought it might be the cable, it was a full box I found in an empty warehouse we've recently taken over. As a last resort before buying some more cable, I thought I'd try the cat 5 connectors. Bingo! Worked straight away. Suffice to say, these connectors reside where they were left. In the loft, never to see the light of day again!!! Sorry guys at Ampcom, as you might have guessed, I cannot recommend this product
