This is a great pot!
This is a great pot at a bargain price! It works well, looks terrific, and has excellent design. The pot is sturdy and solid and features the best pair of handles I've ever used (cool and easy to grip). The transition between side and bottom is a nice rounded curve for easy cleaning. I'll never know if it braises or fries as well as my 4 qt all-clad; in my small household I use this 12 qt mostly for steaming and soup, where it performs flawlessly. You don't need to spend $360 to boil water! Is this pot up to the standards of the All Clad? The handles are welded on and then reinforced with a welded plate. The design is sturdy, functional, and handsome, but not the absolute highest standard. The handle on the lid is merely spot welded--completely adequate for the non-stress needs of a lid handle. The pot isn't fully clad, but I don't see that as a problem for my needs. On the plus side, this pot has a curved lip for easier pouring.I have the Bosch 3065 induction cooktop. This pot is large enough to fit the huge 11-inch burner. I'll probably also buy the 8 qt stock pot, but it will have to fight with the 4 qt all-clad for the medium sized burner.Edit: 2+ years and quite a few steamed crab and lobster later, I'm as happy as a clam (I've steamed some clams too!). Someone asked about the specific dimensions... diameter of completely flat bottom is 10 1/4 inches, there is a curved transition to the sides so the side to side diameter is 11 1/4 inches, handle to handle span is 15 1/2, height of pot without lid is 7 1/2, and height including lid is 9 inches to the top of the lid's handle. I've noticed that the price has inched up to $52 in line with general inflation, which means that it's still a great pot at a superb price.Edit: 6+ years ... still happy customer. Not a lot of use, but when I exceed my 4 and 6 quart pans, it's nice to know that I have a full 12 quarts. Even a small household occasionally needs a large pot. I feel this is a single purchase that will last a lifetime.

This Pot is GREAT........color me AMAZED !
I purchased this to replace an 8 quart Calphalon stock pot (with non-stick coating). The Calphalon lasted a mere 18 months but to be fair I use the pot for just about everything, almost daily. I find doing this seems to make a non-stock coating break down rather quickly.I'm sick of buying a new 'everything' pot every 2 years or so.I gave this New Professional Commercial Grade pot a chance and dreading that foods might stick to it; making it hard to clean. Guess what? It's easy to clean and takes just a bit of scrubbing. Yes: it stains inside from cooking and I don't care. Perhaps if I used bar-keep to clean it once in awhile.......but I don't think I'd need to do that more than once a month or so.I've used it 5 times now - spaghetti sauce, taco meat, hamburgers, chicken, and beef stew. It all cooked evenly and clean up was easy. I'm sold on this type of cookware now! I'm planning to slowly (as my budget allows) buy more pieces - like an 8 quart pot, some sauce pans, and a couple fry pans. I'm thinking this will last a lot longer than 18 months and since it doesn't have a non-stick coating inside, I don't have to watch for when the coating starts to break-down and flake.I love the lid because it's easy to clean (the prior used Calphalon model has a glass lid that water was always trapped inside the stainless frame around the edges......so annoying and it would get moldy.....yes mold. Hated it and had to soak it in something to eat up the mold.I recommend this highly and I honestly ....... plan on getting more of the same brand. Thank you.

Happy with my new stock pot, AWESOME! with 9 year later update
Update...have had this pot for 9 years now. It has stood the test of time in every way. All the points in my review below, are still true today.I am very impressed with this pot. I tend to go for some bigger names (Le Creuset, etc), but decided to try this based on reviews. I am so glad that I did. The bottom of this pot is very heavy. If you're like me and you go into stores picking up all the pots to see about heft, you won't be disappointed with this. I do wish it had a glass lid, but for the price I paid, I'm thrilled. Also, remember to consider stock pots that don't have the handle's rivets inside. Some excellent brand pots have rivets inside, and they look cool, but stuff gets stuck to them and they become a cleaning chore. I'm pleased to say that this one does NOT have the rivets on the interior. I made stock yesterday and pouring was very easy into the filter. Handles on pot stay reasonably cool and are just the right distance from the pot. I now have another stock bubbling gently as I write...happy.

Works Great with the Glass Ceramic stovetop (that I dislike!)
Heavy/sturdy pot just as described (12Qt). Fits large burner on my glass/ceramic stove with acceptable overlap...ie- perfect fit!.Thank you! I have had numerous issues getting use to cooking on my glass/ceramic top stove (if I had a choice, I would not pick one)-- this pan evens out the heat fluctuations when the element cycles on and off, resulting in a fairly consistent temp inside the pot. Took advice of numerous others by buying BarKeepers Friend (works wonders)...although, it was only a slight residue that I needed to get off after running it through the dishwasher. Heat up empty low and slow, use a little bit of oil.

Great Pot!
This is an excellent pot for the money. I received a Cuisinart 12-qt pot. I use it a lot, I make agave sweetened tea, instead of drinking juice or water. I use this pot primarily for that. I use it for stews, pasta, steaming veggies, etc., etc. It's great, big, cleans easily, it's Cuisinart, not as sensitive and heavy duty as a Viking, but a comparably good pot for the price. Don't need to pamper it as much, but still a very high quality product. I am very pleased with this pot.
