AS GOOD PLAYING AS TENOR TROMBONES GET REGARDLESS OF PRICE!
An excellent trombone with a truly great slide.....nickel silver and chrome slides for dent resistance and super slick action. This tenor tromboneis as good as they get. You can pay as high as four thousand dollars for a tenor trombone, but it won't play or sound any better., You will be paying for a prestigious name.A tenor trombone is a simply made instrument with no valves or many bends in the tubing. The old ploy that this or that instrument will suffice for a student, but as one progresses on he needs a really expensive instrument is one of the biggest ripoffs I know of. There are student instruments in the brass family that are as good as they get, lacking only the prestigious name and outrageous pricetag! This does not apply to the reed family where pads and such can be of varying quality and key work can vary in quality - BUT NOT SO WITH BRASS INSTRUMENTS. The prelude TB711 trombone, if taken care of, will suffice all the way through school and then some!

trombone
My 11 year old son is currently in the 6th grade band and plays the Euphonium Baritone. He became extremely excited about playing the trombone as the school year went on, and wanted to switch for next year. His band instructor said he really needed Euphonium players for next year and suggested he take trombone lessons outside of school. We decided to fuel our son's fire and invest in a trombone. I sent the band instructor a copy of the link for the Bach Prelude TB711--he said it was a great horn, so we bought one. It came with a really cool soft, padded back-pack style case. It also came with a Starter Kit and Tuner. We are extremely happy with our purchase!! My son played it for about 3 hours when it arrived-Oh the sound of music :) !!!!

Excellent trombone. My daughter is a second year trombone ...
Excellent trombone. My daughter is a second year trombone player and this instrument is perfect for her. She also loves the case it came with. It is a backpack case that is really nice and durable. This will be the perfect trombone for many years to come.

Sounds great
Was worried about the bag it came in but it is a hard case bag. This seems to be working out great!

Great Trombone for the Price
I got this for my 11 year old son. He was previously using a trombone on lone from his school. This model was recommended by the band instructor as a quality instrument at a reasonable price. So far, we are very pleased and the soft case is much lighter to carry than the hard plastic cases.

Disappointed
Bought this instrument for my 12 year old son who decided he wanted to join the band one week before school started last fall. Decided this was a better option than renting since the price was reasonable. His band director now says something is wrong with this trombone and the tone sounds like there is something stuck inside. We've checked it and had a repair shop take a look. They can't determine why the sound is muffled and flat. Even talked to a Conn-Selmer rep and have no idea what is wrong. We're outside the Amazon return window with no warranty. Regretting this purchase now.***UPDATE***The seller, Instrumentpro, said there was a one year warranty on the instrument and I could send it back to them for repair or replacement. They first claimed to have removed an item that was stuck inside, which I knew wasn't true after two repair shops inspected it previously. They then said it could not be tuned because it had been dropped and had multiple dents. It was not dropped and although there were a couple of dents, they were minor. The trombone should not still be playing flat and unable to be properly tuned.Beware of this model trombone and avoid Selmer and Instrumentpro!! They don't stand behind their product or warranty.
