If you are serious about vinyl, you NEED this.
Admittedly, I have been skeptical about spending hundreds of dollars on a vacuum based cleaning machine for years. I have used Spin Clean, Discwasher, and my own home brew setup before that. I will also now admit, that a vacuum based cleaner matters - really matters.Firstly, a little about the Okki Nokki itself. You will receive a very well thought out packaged unit, (always a good initial sign). The unit itself is built like a tank. The instruction manual is very detailed, to the point of outright verbose. You cannot miss, unless you don't read it. Simple, elegant design, that is easy to operate, and appears will last a long time with proper use. The cleaning solution provided is concentrated, and mixes with distilled, (very important) water, so this should last a long time. One concentrated container mixes with one liter of water. A quality horsehair brush is included, as is a threaded record clamp. You will have the setup working in minutes, even with reading the manual. A trip to the pharmacy to pick up the distilled water is the longest part of the job...The results: It works. For those of you that have been hesitant to spend a few hundred bucks on a cleaning machine because you doubted the significance of vacuum cleaning, now is the time to put that out of your head. Your records will sound better, period. Not only will any noise caused by "dirt" be eliminated, you will actually hear significantly greater detail, to the point where many of my records sounded newer than when they first bought. This is not only a maintenance component, but also one that constitutes a significant equipment upgrade, not unlike spending serious money on a tonearm or fine cartridge. My setup: Modified Technics 1200 TT; Denon DL-110 moving coil cart; Harmon/Kardon receiver; Bi-amplified Klipsch/Jensen loudspeakers.

A Good Product - No Miracles Here...
Sweet machine. Mechanically sturdy. Does a very good job of cleaning albums in good shape. I am finding, however, that my older vinyl is only modestly improved after cleaning. I watched several online videos of how to use the Okki Nokki, but there doesn't seem to be any definitive technique to cleaning a collection. All seem to vary on the method and the instruction guide is fuzzy on how much liquid and how many "turns" of the records is enough. On some of my worst, I'm going to try multiple cleanings to see if that doesn't provide the best results.Meantime, I'm pleased with the machine. Got what I paid for!Quick shipment. Arrived undamaged. Overall, very pleased...Follow-up after a month: I stand by my original review. I've cleaned 15-20 of my older, more cherished vinyls now. Bad Company, Todd Rundgren, Led Zepplin, Chicago and others. As stated originally, this RCM will NOT correct scratches or most skip problems. I'm still having to employ the "cleanup" feature on my Roxio LP & Tape Assistant when I rip them digitally. The records all benefitted sonic-ly from the cleaning and for that I'm staying with my 4 star rating.

As a record cleaning machine it works great. It has taken some records that have had an abundance of noise and definitely quieted them down. It's not a miracle worker - it's not going to get rid of skips or anything - but no RCM is. If it continued to work well for me with no problems, then five stars for sure. And if you have one with no defects, then I'd imagine your review hangs around 4-5 stars.However...my machine leaks from the base. Eventually, it just stopped draining. I contacted the U.S. importer of Okki Nokki and they paid for me to ship it to them, since it is covered by a year warranty (FYI, I've had it about 4 months). I was without it for about three weeks and they acknowledged that there was a draining problem. They fixed it and sent it back. So, three weeks after sending it out I get it back and it is completely soaked in the box - weird, huh? Regardless, I wiped it down and it ran fine (i.e. it turned on and the platter and vacuum operated). A week later I finally get around to cleaning about a dozen records (I'm going through my entire collection - tedious and time consuming). Still leaking - out the base where the bottom plate and side plates make a seam. I checked again the next day and still liquid coming out, which becomes worse when the machine is moved.Great at cleaning records, but - at least in my experience and with the particular machine I received - the build quality is lacking. Not sure what will come of this as I continue to try and work the warranty.
