These hand ground blades have a comfortable handle shape inspired by Western style. It comes with a custom made welted leather (Genuine cowhide) sheath. These knives are made from CARBON TOOL STEEL and require extra care to protect them from rust. The tip of the blade should always be clean. Please note that Material like HORN, BONE AND STAG may vary in color and due to hair line cracks it might be uneven sometimes, well this is what is the real attraction of these knives. Just recieved mine today and it's exactly what I was hoping for.There are slight differences in the blade, but that told me it was hand made, exactly what I like to see. Too perfect isnt always great.I didnt expect the guard and pommel to also be Damascus, so that was a pleasant suprise.The handle is incredibly well done, far above expectations for leather.I wanted my first Damascus steel blade to be hand made, and this one obviously is.The length, weight, and balance is spot on in my opinion. Even the sheath is not perfectly symmetrical with the stamping. Again proof of handmade and just what I wanted.The only complaint I would have is the guard has some sharp edges.It arrived well oiled and sharpened and I think it's great. Pricing was great too.I would buy more from this smith.

Damascus? Does anyone really know the formula?Anyway, very happy w/ what I got, I like the guard to hook the other way but easily adapted to.Blade came sharp and oiled. good balance, what I'm trained to use
