ShinHanPass Design Color Hybrid of Watercolors and Gouache 20ml Tubes 48 Color Set

I was curious about this this product and I have to say that I really enjoy working with it both straight from the tube and dried in watercolor pans. I find that it activates really easily when allowed to dry. Be warned that this product cracks when dried in pans. I know some people have issues with that. I have to say it worked like a dream. You can get nice opaque colors but when you add water it thins out nicely to get nice watercolor pieces. I would recommend this product to other artists if you want to have some fun playing around.

I have tried and used MANY different watercolors & gouache paints over the years including some of the most expensive brands like Old Holland, Blockx, Daniel Smith, W & N etc. I've also purchased many inexpensive sets from Amazon which have been decent but none were too impressive except this set of Shin Han Pass. The colors are very vibrant, layer beautifully and dry to a very clean glow without being chalky or glossy . I mostly work on tinted paper and this paint seems to be the missing link to what I have been attempting to accomplish with my art for years. I liked this paint so much I've ordered another complete set after completing my first project. I should also add that for most of my past paintings I would use a minimum of 3-4 different brands or paints to produce the desired results but I was able to complete this project with just this one set of 48. I did purchase both sets myself and I have received no incentive to write this review.

I have a little problem buying paints LOL and couldn’t wait to try these - fabulous price in a lightning deal clinched it. First off this is a HEAVY box filled with paint tubes - so fun. I have only tried a few colors. Pix below show the different amounts of translucence/matte - as advertised. The names are odd but the colors seem lovely - not terribly lightfast but clearly marked and lots of data on the pamphlet. Only complaint is that the top tier is HARD to get out so when I replaced it I threaded some paper towel as a wrap to make it easier to lift out

These were purchased as a gift and they were ecstatic over them. These are some of the finest quality paints!

I used to have to palettes on my disk, one for watercolors and the other for gouache, but this hybrid medium solved this issue for me. the colors are amazing (variety & intensity), and since I purchased this set I haven't stopped using it.

These are lovely and so much fun to work with. Highly recommended!

These are intense and vibrant. I like them better than other gouache paints I have. Yet I can thin them down with water and most colors are translucent as my expensive watercolors.

Nice big tubes, lovely colors. Can’t wait to paint with them, Shin Han has never let me down.
