Works fine
Wasn't sure whether to give it 4 or 5 stars but decided to give it "the benefit of doubt", like court judges say.My only complaint or doubt is that it doesn't fill with water more than 1-1.5 inch. There is max 1-1.5 inch of water at the bottom, with faucet wide open. Though, this is exactly what is shown on the photo - water running through, no visible water covering the rice. Maybe this is how it should be?Everything else is fine - holes are small, grains don't get stuck in the holes. This is a smaller size, 8 inch, enough to wash 2-3 cups of rice for a 3 liter pan. Inomata also make bigger size.

Great Product
This is the best! I use jasmine rice almost exclusively, so I can’t guarantee the same results with other rice. The small holes in the bottom allow you to fill and swish the rice and then drain slowly. Also, the rice doesn’t stick in the holes, so cleanup is a breeze. For this price, you can’t go wrong.

Simply genius
I ordered this as a complement to the Zojirushi NS-LAC05XT Micom 3-Cup Rice Cooker and Warmer, Black and Stainless Steel and it's the best $6 I've spent all year! I used to clean grains by washing them in a stainless steel mixing bowl and then rinsing them in a metal strainer under the tap. This made for a time-consuming and tedious process.Inomata to the rescue! This bowl lets you wash and rinse in a single, continuous step—VERY Zen. Cleaning rice has become a joy instead of a chore, and this sort of elegant, earnest problem-solving design is the epitome of kaizen, the Japanese practical philosophy of constant improvement. It's wonderful for everything that requires immersion washing: grains, beans, lentils, even grapes. If you eat any of these things regularly, this will quickly pay for itself in time saved.

Nice and inexpensive
Washing rice isnt really too hard since I usually only make 1 cup, but this really makes the process easier since I don't have to worry so much about accidentally dropping the grains all over the sink. The plastic is sturdy and its easy to wash. It really comes in handy when washing several cups of rice at a time and both my mom and I are really glad to have gotten this, especially for how inexpensive it was (:

Works like a champ, but ...
Works like a champ, but the plastic is very cheap. For six dollars, I feel they should have made it from a stronger plastic. But I am guessing between the added cost of exporting and then shipping from Amazon, that would increase the price. If only they made this same design but with stainless steel. I did use it today and washing rice was very easy and did a pretty good job at it too.

too bad I didn't know about this earlier
I was taught to wash the rice in the cooking bowl. I didn't want to risk scratching the teflon, so I would wash and drain repeatedly in a container. My new place has quite a bit of mineral content, and I thought that the film left on the sides of my bowl after cooking was natural. When I got this, it took 1 or 2 minutes to wash my rice, the water cleared easily, and the bowl didn't get a leftover film anymore. So it's fast and it cleans the rice well. I cook medium grain, and it does not go through the drain holes, and it doesn't even fill while I'm running water.

A must for rice
You’d think any old small slatted sieve would do for rice, not true. I make a weekly ration of rice at the start of every week and this is a quality improvement. It’s a little extra for just casually making rice for a weekly ration but all things said but if you need a rice sieve this is in fact one…. of the many options on Amazon for that. But really just find the cheapest that has this model in the photo.
