Small but good idea for car or plane journeys
My children have had a lot of Aqua doodle products in the past. We’ve had the mats and the small screens and this is the smallest version they’ve had. Good for travel but it is very small so possibly not for the children who love to scribble on big piece of paper! Would be good for developing motor skills of two and three-year-olds as they can only draw in this small space. It can also be used for older children as it has a little guide for how to draw different thing with step-by-step instructions. For example how to draw a house. This would be good for car journey. I do love the Aquadoodle products because they generally are less mess than giving the children anything else to draw with!I’m not sure how long this will last as the durability might be an issue. It’s basically just plastic. In some ways I think the mats might be a better bet if your child is a bit rough with their things. I imagine one of my children will step on it and crack the plastic frame around it!

Very small
My little one got bored of this really quickly which was really surprising as I was expecting him to enjoy it. He loved it when it first arrived, but the drawing board is ever so Small gets filled with drawing easily quickly and then takes A while to dry, and kids do not have patience. The water pen is a good idea and good for less mess, it does last a little while but that’s because the drawing board is small! Overall I would not really recommend this for the £7 it is advertised for, think my max budget for something like this would be £4, if the drawing board was bigger then would definitely think this would be better, now it’s just lying around in the toy box.

Like the concept but this did not work in reality
This is a disappointing toy from Tomy. I love the principle of this - it is portable, clean to use (no mess), encourages creativity and pencil/pen control and even has drawing ideas - drawing a sail boat and house, for example. The ‘pen’ is tight and both my husband and I separately were unable to open this fill with water. Wetting the nib only and drawing, I noted that the drawn water lines disappear far too quickly and well before the whole sketch has been completed. This is therefore extremely frustrating and a pointless exercise and toy.

recommend
This keeps my niece quiet when we're out and about and I love it! She likes drawing, but I don't like carting books and crayons around with me. it's also good because I don't have to worry about her attacking the walls like with the last crayons she had when my back was turned... seriously I really think these are great for young children to have the freedom to play without the mess. so much fun for them and no clean up for me, I recommend it fully.

Great item at a good price
Its difficult to fault this product. It saves your carpet and walls from pen and crayon marks. The mat is square and folds down small enough for easy storage. The pen is filled with water by unscrewing it very easily. We plan to take a bottle of water with us to top up the pen on the go.This gives you the peace of mind that if you were to turn your back for five minutes the worst that could happen is a little water on your carpet or wall that would easily be wiped away rather that having to repaint walls or wash furniture covers.Great item at a good price.

nice little pad however it is very small.
I love these Aquadoodle sets, they are so much fun and mess free. All three of my children play for hours with them. This note pad however, is very small so limits what you can draw as my 3 year old likes to draw everything very big he wasn't the biggest fan. Luckily it dries out very quickly so they can keep drawing. It has a nice flip pad at the top that has a few ideas as to what they can draw and a basic guide to show how to draw it. This set is great for getting a fussy pre school child to practise holding a pen/brush and get creative.

feels a bit poorly made
I wasn't really impressed with the packaging as there aren't any instructions anywhere. Because it's called aqua doodle I wrongly assumed that you use it in the bath. That worked out fine because the board and everything does eventually dry out. You fill the pen with water and use that to draw. The good thing about it is it's reusable once it's dry.
