Crossfire: A Litany for Survival

I recommend this book to folks that love or hate poetry. This is a wonderful read and worth every word.

Outstanding book, do not hesitate to purchase. I’ve seen this poet live and can’t get enough of her profound insights. Love her!

She is definitely "In Living Color."My flagging game is real especially when the tags starts to look like decorations, #neon yellow color of choice :). The book caught my interest the moment Ms Chin stepped on stage, fly girl. Pgs 63 (2x), 64 (2x), 65, 70 (2x), 71, 75 say it to your fish your parrot, 93 (2x), 95 (2x), 96 (2x), 103...I am only at page 103 last flag until my commute home this evening or tomorrow morning..."milk carton" my research was just what I thought...per the Wikipedia Eddie Griffin. #disparity will it ever end....to be con't..Con't - I have just finished reading this masterpiece. my review: page 125 words unfamiliar to me but ive heard it before but never knew the meaning until now “pseudo”. Page 126, Page 129, Page 130, Page 139 close to home I too attended IS-53, Page 146, Page 166, Page 190 "most romances" "mid-week" "overnight bags" (the beasts of society along with other elements have come to destroy what once was ), Page 221 "ain't no fairy tale" (in my heart I say what if I keep rolling the dice aka keeping all hope alive) because I believe in what I am "A fairytale" it don't get any better. Page 202 "that yellow brick road" I swear if I don't mention this several times a year I ain't black, and I don't think Chinese food cost much anywhere. Very interesting book of poems. I am not sure if anyone else felt this way but as I was approaching the last several page I had to keep looking at the page “About The Author” I just could not believe how in grossed I was in this book as a whole. I wanted folks to feel the excitement joy pain suspense I was experiencing as I read this book while commuting to work on the trains and buses. This book a more of a movement than anything else a movement of her life. Just ordering a copy of "The Other Side of Paradise" the other side OMG I can't wait

beautiful collection spanning chin's 20+ year career. it's exciting to see some of my favorite performance poems collected here (crossfire, nails, lesbian chasing straight) plus quite a few new poems. enjoyable collection for old fans and those who are new to her work. i will definitely be gifting these to poetry lovers in my life.
