Worked as expected
To get the marker going, had to shake well and then press the tip in a number of times (probably for about a minute, ~30-40 presses) as the water with the white ink had to flow to the tip. Once ready, the markers worked very well on a black surface.

NOT CHALK
This does not rub off a chalk board even with a cleaner . . . now have a stained kitchen blackboard!In addition, one of the pens doesn't work at all!

Needs to dry for about 20 minutes, if you touch the writing before that it smudges
