Decent camera, great support, some issues that could be fixed via software.
The good:- Camera picture is very clear when viewing live- Battery and solar cells are fantastic. It seems to charge very well throughout the day even with the many triggers that happen.- No wires! So cool that I can place this anywhere around my house and it just works.- Night vision works well and you can see a good amount when the IR is on.- Great support! I had an issue where the camera continued to repeatedly overwrite any new clip with the same clip and had a timestamp of 1970 (clearly some timestamp was being set to start of epoch). Contacted support and worked with them over several days to resolve it. They went above and beyond in helping me to resolve my issue and were very prompt with their responses by email. They went so far as to cut me a personal firmware version to resolve my issue. The bad:- Motion detection is just so-so. It triggers often, causing a lot of false positives, but what's probably more frustrating is that it won't detect when it actually should (for example when someone walks by it). It tends to take a few seconds to boot up after initial trigger, so typically somebody will approach the camera, it will trigger, but by the time it's recording the person has already moved past the camera view. We have this camera pointed on a path leading up to our front door, and as a result of this we typically only catch people when they are leaving (because it is still on from the trigger of them approaching). This may be OK for you as long as the camera is pointed to a spot where people are likely to stay stationary for awhile in front of the camera, like facing outward from your front door, or in an area where you have a wide field of view.- The quality of recorded clips is not nearly as good as when viewing live. You can still make people out and details, but it seems to downgrade to the none HD version of the stream when recording. I wish there was a way to record in HD because I have a 64gb sd card in there that could handle the extra bytes.- The app UI is pretty frustrating IMO. - First annoyance, is by default when you open the app sound is always on. Even if your phone is on silent with DND turned on, the sound in this particular app overrides all of that. I like to check this at night, but can't because the initial "tock" sound that plays on every clip is enough to wake up my wife. - Second annoyance, the time chart that shows which clips have been recorded is not always accurate. Sometimes the app will claim theres a clip (highlighted in yellow), but when you try to navigate to the start of it it just skips forward past it. - Finally, the app just feels clunky. Options don't appear where you would normally expect them in other apps. You can't change the wifi SSID once it's been set without reset. Lots of little polish is needed here and there.Edit (06/23/2020) Soliom is sending me the updated version of this model for free after reaching out after my comment. I'm gonna have to give them 5 stars as they really seem to want to make this right. I've been told that the majority of the issues I am facing are either due to my older model, or the older app I'm using (apparently there is a soliom+ app that is supposedly better). Changing my review from 3 to 5 stars as I have no reason to right now to doubt them, but I will update the review if it turns out not to be the case. Thanks Soliom!

Finally, a Truly Wireless Security Camera
So after trying this camera for about a week, there are some things I have to get off my chest. For the last ten years, I have bought about a dozen indoor and outdoor cameras, and pretty much all of them had the word "wireless" on them somewhere. But that only means to connect to your phone so you can see what the camera sees. It does not describe that the camera is wirelessly powered, like your phone or point-and-shoot camera. So you still had to plug it into the wall to power it. This was not a problem for most indoor cameras - at the most you can get an extension cable if you want to mount it somewhere high where the power cable couldn't reach the plug. However, when you have an outdoor camera, it's really hard to find a suitable place that you want the camera's point of view to record, while having it close enough to a power source. It's a balancing act that requires a compromise, and sometimes it doesn't provide that sense of security that you need.So the thing I want to get off my chest is that, FINALLY, there is now a truly wireless camera. I have it pointed outside the house where I can see both the front door and the garage door adjacent to it at the same time. This requires the camera to be mounted higheron the outside wall, and there is no power outlet to be found. So something like this would be impossible on a regular outdoor security camera, unless you spend a bunch more for a professional installation. There are many reviews for this camera, so the two main points I want to focus on is the solar panels and the internal battery. First, the 10,000mAh internal battery is one of the ways that this camera self-powers. Well, you still need a way to recharge it, and if you still have to plug it to the wall, then that defeats the purpose. So, that's where the solar panels come in, as they will recharge the battery, and also power the camera. So in tandem, they work perfectly together - normally, the solar panels would be enough to power the camera. Then, on a rainy or cloudy day, the battery will take over so you'll never be out of power. You download an app on your phone to set up and connect to your camera. The camera connects to your home's Wi-Fi, and through the app your phone connects with the camera, whether your in your home or thousands of miles away. The other features include a night-vision mode where it will turn the video into black and white, with high contrast so you can make out faces and features easiers. There is also an option to use the motion capture feature to auto-record, and/or to notify your phone so you can check it out on your phone instantly.Compared to other outdoor cameras, this camera's price is in the same ballpark. However, because of its truly wireless features, I feel it is so much more valuable. In theory, you mount it, connect it, and forget it. You don't have to worry to powering it up or down. It is self-powered, and can be automated to your liking. For this peace of mind, I find it to be a great camera, especially for when I'm away on trips.
