In keeping with our dedication to providing the best quality, most engaging toys for newborns, we have brought back some of our favorite toys from years gone by. The heirloom quality Classic Baby Beads will instantly capture your baby's attention and feature smooth, naturally finished wooden beads strung together with elastic. These wooden clutching rattles are designed for tiny hands to reach for, grab, pull, twist, and rattle – an old fashion, hands on toy that encourages babies to experience the tactile world around them while engaging their gross motor skills. As baby delights in manipulating the wooden beads, a clickey-clop sound is produced, allowing them to explore sound and cause and effect. These beads have also been shown to be helpful to those on the Autism spectrum. Since 1978, Manhattan Toy has been making award-winning, high quality, educational toys for your baby, toddler or kid. From infant toys and baby toys to sensory development toys, our goal is to provide the safest and best toys available.

Larger than Haba Version
I hope this review (and photo) help buyers like me who want to see the difference between the Manhattan Toy version and the Haba version of these toy beads. To me, the Manhattan Toy beads are the original I've seen in stores and friends' homes, and I was disappointed by how small the Haba beads were.Manhattan Toy beads:--Each ball is larger in size--More balls--More colors and smooth finish--Well-made--Entertain adults and kids because of their size and movement--Overall large in size (bigger than my hand)--My 11-month-old loves it and can easily play with it using both handsHaba beads:--Smaller beads--Less beads on the string--Less colorful, has two purples next to each other (which bothered me), and has some color-distortions in several beads--Felt well-made, but the smaller size made it less fun to play with--Fits better in a baby's small hands but might be less entertaining as they grow upIf you're looking for something that will entertain for years, I'd go with the Manhattan Toy beads. The Haba version will fit better in a diaper bag, but the smaller size isn't as appealing to play with.

Colorful and attention grabbing.
The media could not be loaded. This thing is just aesthetically pleasing and my little one enjoys it thoroughly.

I think I’m a bigger fan of this toy than my baby & that’s okay! The perfect adult stress toy!
I originally bought this toy for my son for his first birthday. He held it for a few minutes, admired the colors, chewed on several of the balls once or twice, then moved on.That said, I absolutely love this thing, haha! I love the natural wood & how the pieces are so soft. My favorite part is the clacking sound they make when you’re absentmindedly playing with it (plus the colors aren’t so bright or the shape so particular that it looks like a children’s toy when an adult is playing with it). I’ve honestly begun to use it as sort of a stress toy & it works wonderfully! I even let my mother-in-law borrow it during a particularly stressful situation a couple weeks ago & she got a kick out of it .. plus it worked! So, whether my son grows into this toy (I can’t imagine why he wouldn’t), or not, it will still get lots of use in our household. I don’t regret this purchase at all! Please let me know if you found this review helpful, as I also rely heavily on others’ reviews when purchasing items online 🙂.

Son didn’t like it but its still a great toy!
A very well made toy. Unfortunately my son never got into this. Like zilch interest. Big O. Nada. He likes to be able to fit things into his mouth, and he just can’t seem to find a good fit with these colorful wooden beads. I bought this when he was 6 months old. I dunno if it would have made a difference if I gave it to him when he was few months younger and not teething like crazy. I notice with certain toys, its all about timing. And also sometimes the baby just has preferences the way any individual does. Like my older son didn’t care for Sophie the Giraffe but my younger son does. My son is now nearly 10 months old and he still doesn’t care for it. So *shrug*- this is a well made beautiful toy and that’s what I’m rating it on. Will your baby like it just bc its got 4-5 stars from hundreds of other reviewers? Meh- maybe not. But in my case, its not the toy’s fault.

Transcends the ages!
This toy is like crack. I ordered it for my (at the time) 6 month old, who expressed little interest in it. I picked it up one afternoon and couldn't put it down. It is so soothing! I love the colors, the smoothness of the wood, how easily they move around (yes, you can wear it as a bracelet if that's your thing). It's a great toy, like all the Manhattan toys are. Here we are and my daugter is 9 months old, and she loves it now too. I had to finally give it up and let her play with it. She's drawn to the colors, and the feel of it, just like me.Get it! You won't regret it.

Bigger than expected, and that ended up being a good thing!
Really like this toy. I bought it for my baby thinking it was smaller, but this is a really great size for little hands just learning to maneuver toys.Pros:- seems to be solid- elastic cord is not too stretchy- beads are made of wood, and are solid except for a hole for the cord- colors are vibrant- seems like a toy that will grow with the kid well into toddler years- made in ThailandCons:- a bit on the heavy side if you’re looking to purchase for a 3month old- color transferred between beads a little (see picture) but doesn’t seem to flake, so not a big dealReally love this toy and hope my baby enjoys playing with it for a while!

Babies and me like this
Despite being a childless 30-something, I have had my eye on this baby toy for quite some time. Luckily, my SIL requested 'colorful teething or interactive toys' for her new babe, so I got to purchase this for us to play with. I think that I liked it more than the baby, but I suspect his love for it will grow. He did get very big eyes when he saw it, and he immediately flopped his tiny baby mouth on it, so all in all it was a good choice. Also I love it.

One of his favorite toys. These cute wooden beads have not shed any paint, and this was my initial apprehension about buying this product. I feel confident about the reputation of this toy's manufacturer, and our baby approves of this toy.

Good wooden toy, quite heavy though.
Lovely toy, very well made, a good weight and lovely and colourful. My 5 month old instantly took to trying to eat it and holding easily onto each colourful ball. Had to take it away until he is a little older however because he is strong and decided to wave it around and hit himself in the head with it, causing a red mark and him to cry. He will definitely enjoy this in a months time though.

Great product
Purchased for my mother who has advanced dementia. Pleasantly surprised that it is much larger then I expected. Very colourful, safe and interesting for her to hold. Excellent product. Arrived promptly. would highly recommend. Thank you.

Lovely quality, but baby had no interest
Offered from 6-8 months, but n interest whatsoever. It's very attractive and high quality though!

I bought this for my son who is 6 months old however I probably use it more than him! It's quite relaxing to play with to be honest!Great quality, but I thought was a tad bit pricey which is why I've given 4 stars instead of 5.

Lovely quality
Was initially sent the wrong product which is a hassle to return but love the beads now they have arrived. They feel lovely quality and make a good sound. My little boy doesn't like them as much as I expected but they are a good distraction when we are out and about.
