Glass cracked while cooling off
Base is a bit wobbly without water, but fine for where I use it.The lime collects on the heating element since we have hard water....so important to clean and empty every day/nightAfter just making a cup of tea, I set it on base and heard a crack...glass cracked while cooling down.Called amazon and told I’d. Receive an email to get third party to replace this...we shall see, it said a two year warranty and I’ve only had it for two weeks

A way to speed up Morning Preparation before commute
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. 1. It takes about 8 minutes to boil water.2. The kettle has analog on/off power switch.3. The kettle is made of glass, not plastic. I really hope it prolongs the usefulness. I actually have glass kettle but I need to use my gas stove.Summary of points 1 to 3:In the morning when every minute counts, this electric kettle helps cut down the time spent on boiling water. I use the outlet timer to time the boiling. The night before, I would put water into the kettle, set the power switch to on. Because the power switch is analog, not digital, the switch stays on but there is no current flowing because my outlet timer doesn’t turn on until 6:07 AM the next morning. While the water is being heated up, I brush my teeth and wash my face. At 6:15 AM, the water is boiled and ready for my coffee and I am done brushing my teeth and washing my face. I just kill 2 birds with one stone.Another advantage is I feel much safer using the electric kettle in the morning. After the water boils, the kettle turns off automatically. I don’t have to worry about checking my stove before I head outDisadvantages:It’s slightly more expensive to boil water using electricity vs using gas stove. This is the inherent issue not just for this product but for the general usage of using electricity.

Not bad. Base is small. Be wary around kids.
Update November 14, 2020:So this kettle lasted me a whole year. I had purchased it in November of 2019. The only reason why I had to trash it was my son accidentally broke the top. Even after it broke it was stillFunctioning but I ended up tossing it because it was burning my hand when I’d pour. Otherwise I think it would’ve lasted longer. I ordered another a few days ago but they sent me a used one that leaked. You could tell it was used because it had liquid stains inside the glass and the box was double taped. I returned that and ordered a third so hopefully this next one is going to be new and functioning with no leaks. I tried a couple of other brands and can safely say this kettle is the best. It has auto shut off and boils to true boiling point. The size is a bit small for me as I was looking for a 2 L this time around but I went back to it as this is the best performing kettle so far for me.NOVEMBER 2019It arrived in a damaged box. I was afraid it was going to be broken but it made its way on one piece. So far it is working as it should. My only concern is the base is very small (you can see in the picture how small it is) and wobbly so if you have small children, keep this somewhere far and safe from them in case it tips over. I have placed it somewhere where if it tips my kids won't be burned by the hot water. Actually, just keep it somewhere safe in general so that no one gets burned, child or adult.

Great product, convent and fast boil.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have had this about a day and I love it. I would recommend this for any tea drinker or if you just need to boil water. It heats fast, even using ice cold water. Retains temperature for a fast reboil. Finally is a lovely addition to a counter top.

Water Smells Like Plastic and Leaks
EDIT: after four months of use, the kettle water still tastes strange, takes five minutes to boil the minimum amount, and seems that only half the base is boiling water (bubbles only on one side of the pot's base). Disappointing. This is a lovely looking, lightweight, and fast kettle. However, after a couple of weeks of use, the water STILL smells like plastic and tastes strange. Additionally, it has begun to leak from the area in between the bottom part of the handle and I don't understand how. Lastly, the water quickly cools down.

Do not buy from this company
I have it a 1 star because you can not access the warranty website. Now 2/3 months later and my kettle breaks and I’m without a warranty. So now it is currently unavailable , I wonder why

No more wasted coffee
Every morning, I make a pot of coffee. When I'm groggy in the mornings, it's a hassle. Most days I don't drink the whole pot, so it's wasted. With this, I boil some water, add a little instant coffee and Viola! No more wasted coffee. Plus, I'm drinking more tea now that I have a kettle. And for instant soups? perfect! Plus, everyone laughs at how cool the blue light is. If you drink hot beverages and dont have one of these, you are living in the stone age. I would highly recommend.

⚠Great at 1st but shattered 7 months later⚠
⚠⚠⚠ Bought this on Nov. 15, 2019. The hinges broke off, but that wasn't a big deal. Then on June 19, 2020 the whole glass shattered just by picking it up. Don't know what happened but please beware. Even though this has high reviews, this has happened to us.

Poor quality, but looks ok
As for boiling water to make hot drinks it does this but could be better made.Ok it looks ok, i bought this kettle to replace my old glass kettle, i really can't imagine this one will last nearly as long as my other one, the lid doesn't close properly as its sprung & so there is a gap between it and the glass while heating allowing steam to escape, also because of this gap the heat will hit your hand whilst pouring so i drape a tea towel over it. The spout gauze filter does nothing at all.In future i will by from a shop where i can see what I'm getting 1st.

Beware when pouring!
Wanted a stylish looking kettle without paying the earth, this seemed to foot the bill. Looks good, average noise while boiling, not that quick but when pouring, the steam seems to come back & reach the fingers on the hand you’ve picked it up with, so not great from that point of view

Good kettle, nice price
I like glass kettles and this one in particular because it has the on/off button next the the open lid button towards the top of the handle. On my old glass kettle (cheap Daewoo), which this one replaces, the button was near the bottom and I could see water dripping out that end! This kettle is like a Tardis because sitting it next to my old one it towers over this one and yet they both have the same 1.7 litre capacity, I think because this one is slightly fatter.I love that the glass encasing goes all the way to the pouring spout so it gets a smooth pour of water. There is some steam coming out as you pour, as others have mentioned, but nothing that is different from previous kettles I have owned so this is perfectly acceptable.Couple of minor negative points: 1). The level indicator labelling on the glass is only on one side rather than on both sides so I have to rotate the kettle to see what I filled up to. 2). The 12 months extra warranty register card gives a duff website which doesn't work! (https://kiket.co/register)

Be careful
Kettle is very heavy when full of water. Plus the lid doesn’t shut down properly so that when pouring steam escaped and it burnt my hand.

Better than I expected.
This product is the first glass kettle I have owned. I like the blue light and the visibility of seeing how much water there is without having to lift the kettle. It does not boil as fast as I'd like and after a few days, the limescale starts to fog the glass. Overall I'm happy with my purchase despite the issues above.
