A light, fun read good for a laugh or two.
What a great book to read! I found it delightfully funny, and enjoyed each page that I turned. It's written in a sense of humor not often found these days, and a refreshing perspective as to how one's personal experiences growing up has influenced a man to become a national park ranger. Great read for traveling!

Clever and fun but not what was expected
Made me laugh outloud! Not what I expected though. Anticipated these would be true, actual stories of events at Glacier. Instead they are the imagination of the author. But still funny with a few glimpses of Glacier magnetism

Laughed out loud
I bought this book because I met the author and found him to be one of the funniest people I have ever met. I was not disappointed when I got my copy and read a chapter each night...smiling myself to sleep. The stories are of the modified tall tale type and convey a sense of humanity through each situation created. Most of us have or have had jobs. Most of us have seen the humor in our work whether we love it (as he does) or not. Pat connects with the part of the reader that knows that , often, we don't need to take everything quite a seriously as we do. He connects with the rascal in us. I like that.

I like to think that due to my age and experience ...
This read is wacky ! Not sure what is true and what isn't. I like to think that due to my age and experience as well as my years in NW Montana that I was able to decipher some of the stories. Nevertheless, it's an enjoyable read and the author is an asset to the Park Service. And reader beware, you will be entering a different world upon opening this book.

Disappointed
I love Glacier National Park and really wanted to like this book. I love Ranger books and looked forward to all his stories of being a Ranger at Glacier. I got 50% through the book and still not one story of being a park ranger. I really got tired of his jokiness. He's trying entirely too hard to be funny and it just comes off as silly and in the way to me. I hardly ever don't finish a book. I just go tired of looking for the book I thought I had bought. That's all just my opinion. Others might love it.
