The Aginova iCelsius WIRELESS Base Connectivity Unit with Wifi, iOS and Android is battery-powered and able to use different probes to monitor temperatures via wireless connection to your iOS or Android device. It uses your existing wi-fi router and any Apple iOS 5 or higher device as well as Android devices version 2.3.3. and above. The ICELSIUS WIRELESS comes with the ability to be configured to 4 different communication modes that can be switched at any time; direct: the unit generates is own access point to connect to local wi-fi (infrastructure), and the unit can connect to an existing access point, sending data to all devices connected to it; Remote Internet Access allows the ICELSIUS WIRELESS to connect to an existing access point with internet access, and the data is sent to a remote server, allowing you to access data from anywhere (as long as you have internet access); and data logging, which stores all data with its onboard memory module, where it can be retrieved by the smart phone by pressing the mode button to switch to direct mode and then downloading to the iCelsius app. This wireless base unit does not include probes.

Not Worth Your Time or Money
Judging by the picture of the probes you would think it was a complete package, once the probes arrived I was surprised this wasn't included, I feel I was being baited to now purchase this more expensive item, which obviously I did purchase it. And found it very very difficult to setup as the instructions are not complete. The remote viewing of real time temperature is only within range of your wireless router and I was under the impression I could view the temperature in real time as long the device was connected to the home wifi and my phone was connected to wireless data (meaning I could go down the street and still keep an eye on the temperature). Couldn't test the probes until we had the box, then it took me 3 different times of trying to set up to finally get it to work and it was not even close to par with my expectations. Because my screen had timed out (display turned off but apps that were running keep running) it didn't keep updating me to real time temperatures and ended up cooking to a much higher temp than I had set an alarm using the iCelsius application to.We ordered the probes on June 16 and requested return on July 13 (less than 30 days), during that time we also had to wait for this to arrive (ordered June 22) to complete the package seen in the picture before we could even test the probes, then went through the ridiculous setup process and are completely unsatisfied with functionality and the company selling the product.

I've used an iCelsius Wireless BBQ unite for more than 3 years. During that time it has successfully supported me through all my grilling on my wood pellet grill (Rec Tec 609). Granted, the display device (I use an iPad) must be relatively close to the BBQ unit (I set mine on a shelf attached to the grill) but earlier units I used were not wireless and required I walk out to read the temp, the iCelsius allows me to read in the kitchen or watch TV in the living room. The "frosting on the cake" is Anginova customer support. I recently dropped my iCelsius on a tile floor and it separated into parts. Customer service walked me through reassembly and testing of the unit.
