EQUAL Spoonful Zero Calorie Sweetener, Sugar Substitute, 4 Ounce Jar (Pack of 4)

One grocery store near me, the “fancy” one with actual people checking you out and chatting with you, used to carry this. Then they stopped. I never asked why because of the sheer futility of the gesture and, let’s be honest, it would be a little strange. Anyway, I then tried several other groceries, each with a different parent company or whatever, and none had this. This bothers me a little only because opening this container and pouring out sweetener is a THOUSAND times easier than getting the box of sweetener packets out and fiddling around with the dumb little paper packets. I may be exaggerating here a bit. But this container sold here is just so simple and sensible. It has two openings. One to simply pour, and one large enough to get a spoon in there. Simple.

Jim uses Equal n anything that needs to b sweetened. Works perfect & no after taste. .

It replaces sugar for me and tastes great. I like buying four at a time it's hard to find in my area.

Works great for me

Equal Spoonful is my favorite non-sugar sweetener, and I've been using it for many years. I use 2 slightly rounded teaspoons of it in my coffee every morning. The sweetening strength it provides is more like using regular sugar. With the packets, I have to use 1.5 packets for an 8 ounce cup of coffee. It's a pain to deal with the packets. Unfortunately, Equal Spoonful is being taken off the shelves at my local grocery stores, including Walmart. I did call the manufacturer, their rep told me they're still making it. I hope Amazon will continue to carry it.

While it works in some applications it leaves a bitter taste in others. This is best when mixed in recipes with other ingredients and strong enough flavors that mask the "off" flavor of this product. We tried this to use as a more convenient replacement to the Equal packets we'd been using in our daily cocoa. Gave it a couple of tests but have gone back to laborious process of opening 12 little packets per cup because it just tastes so much better. Oddly using the individual packets are about half the price of using this. I guess you are paying for convenience.

This form of Equal has been hard to find in my area; only could find packets in all area grocery stores. Easier to use in sugar free recipes instead of opening 6,742 packets!
