As would be expected, water does not run down the chain....
....rather, it flies off the first umbrella. I guess this is too be expected, however, I purchased a rain chain in order for the water to run down the chain into a rain barrel. Therefore, I removed the hook and put it on the other end of the chain (easily done with a pair of pliers) so that the umbrellas were upsidedown, I then drilled some holes into the top of the umbrellas (standard drill and drillbit), which can be removed, for the water to run through. Now it works great and was substantially cheaper than similar rain chains. I was able to do this quite easily and would in no way consider myself a handyman.

Cute but I've had an issue
These really are cute. I bought a few sets since I had a long way to get to the ground and they were not terribly hard to combine in order to reach all the way down. Their installation was not too hard, I ordered the gutter attachment so they would hang nicely and it was simple to hang the rain chains from it. They look nice and seem to be working. However, I have had a couple of issues. First, be careful when combining the chains if you need to like I did. It can be very easy to scratch the finish. I used painter's tape wrapped around my pliers in order to prevent damage. Second, I am disappointed that after only a short time I have already seen some rust forming on the underside of a few of the umbrellas. This was a real bummer since I was hoping for the patina copper gets when in the elements and I was not expecting to see rust at all. I'm not sure how these will age, if the rust worsens or becomes visible from the outside they will need to be replaced which is obviously not ideal. While I love how cute these are I am not thrilled with the rust that has already formed in such a short time. These have only been hanging outside for a little over a month. We will see how they age but I will probably need to replace them sooner rather than later.

Rainy days
Doesn’t produce as much noise as i thought it would but the gentle rain tapping it does is soothing. Is holding up very well in the drastic Texas weather and the length really helps it from moving too much of it gets windy. 10/10 would buy again.

Maybe I should have picked ones that have a Cup and not an umbrella!
This was a total mess. The water comes down and pours out everywhere like a flood hitting an umbrella. Maybe I should have realized that it doesn’t work like the ones that get filled up and then spread over the cup to the next one because, well, they’re umbrellas. So if your goal is to reduce water everywhere are to be at all helpful with rain, this isn’t it. Splashed everyone going by.

Looks beautiful and works perfectly!
Everything was wrapped and packed well. Looks like antiqued brass, but good, sturdy, quality material. Price is decent, too.
