A book for the body and the brain.
I have read several book authored by world-renowned self-defense expert, yet this may be my favorite. While all his books offer something for everyone, most are still targeted towards actual fighters – or those needing to hone their physical skills for a career or other such goal. “Invincible: Mental Toughness Techniques for the Street, Battlefield and Playing Field” is written by a warrior – for warriors of all kinds. Let me stress that last part, warriors of all kinds. Yes, it is definitely a fighting book, yet it is more – it is a mental preparedness manual that can sharpen your skills and get you ready for any kind of ‘field’ – be is war or a boardroom.An actual work book as opposed to just a guide, this runs through 8 chapters worth of exercises and techniques – all aimed at teaching you how to perform and prevail even in the face of extreme stress and difficulty.Well written and easy to follow, I took away many new perks to train my brain and body, a valuable thing – yet I am sending this book as a gift to my brother’s kindle. He is a Correctional Officer at a State Run Penitentiary in Texas… this book was almost hand crafted for him.

Another great toughness guide from Franco
I have read nearly all of Sammy Franco's amazing books. After a terrifying incident that threatened my safety, I made a commitment to take personal security and self-defense seriously. His Widow Maker series changed my life. One of the things that I still found lacking at times was confidence and I simply love his new book "Invincible". This is no holds barred mental toughness information that doesn't sugar coat anything - exactly the way I like it. Franco's book is filled with easy to understand and apply techniques that work in the areas of maximizing performance, increasing self-confidence and overcoming obstacles. I don't need cute stories for motivation and inspiration. What I need is clear direction and Franco can always be counted on to provide that. Well done.

Good material
Sammy Franco is a knowledgeable person when it comes to self-protection and similar topics. In this book he shares solid, basic techniques/exercises taken mainly from Martial Arts and Reality-Based Self-Defense. The author knows that scenario training and stress inoculation is especially effective for mental toughness, and has a wide range of beneficial effects. The reader will ofcourse do best if he/she starts doing some of this type of training in classes that teach RBSD etc. You do not need a lot of this though, because state-dependant learning is faster and more relevant.By the way, my favorite Franco products are the DVDs "Escape Master" and "Rat Packed". And the "In Your Face"-DVD is good in this context.

Good, Entertaining but Shallow
Very simple concepts focus a lot on aggression and I think the explanation of the concepts are very shallow.The glossary on the end seems to be filler material to me.Besides of that is a really fun book to read that will teach you how to be mentally tough to deal with daily life and with difficult situationsIf you are looking for a less aggresive approach to mental toughness I reccomend yo Unbeatable Mind by Mark Divine or Executive Toughness by Jason Selk

Mental Toughness Program Awaits!
I have both a Military, and a Law Enforcement background and I was immediately drawn to this book page by page when I received it! Mr. Franco did a great job breaking this subject down, and broke his newest book into eight chapters (chapter 7) dealing with mental toughness programs was my favorite because it teaches you how to apply the lessons learned and put the concepts taught into use. I own several of his books, and give this one a five star rating!!!

Inspiring Words To Live By.Warriors, Athletes, Self Defense Students as well as Everyoneelse, will get something out of this book.You will be asked to take a hard look at yourself, in many areas,and it will open your eyes, maybe not in a good way either.Much of what you will read, you will already know, or have heard about,but never paid much attention too, or followed up on.Mental Toughness is both a Mind Set and a Skill, and much of itis Physical, as you will find out.Remember......That Which Does Not Kill Us, Makes Us Stronger.You are either moving forward, or backwards, as nothing ever stays the same.Which do you choose?

Best Advice
Very good book, lots of very good ideas such as visualizing your goals every day, and exercise your mental toughness everyday. This immediately helped me deal with one person I was not dealing with very well. I was being bullied emotionally. As soon as I understood the concept of mental toughness I knew exactly what was happening and what to do. I don't like to be talked into things I know won't be good for me, now I am able to say no without self doubt, thanks Sammy Franco
