My Little Pony: Discord and the Ponyville Players Dramarama

While I realize I'm not in the target age group for this book, I'm a big fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and was interested to hear new stories about each of the main characters. And after reading the first novels in the series about the Mane6, it seems the series is now branching out to highlight some of the secondary characters as well. But this is the first instance of a villain (or former villain, rather) getting a feature, and I was interested to learn more about the scheming trickster, Discord.The residents of Ponyville are gathering together for the annual Spring Musical. But the preparation is anything but smooth when Discord suddenly shows up--wanting to participate in the show. As it turns out, he's on a special mission from Princess Celestia--his task being that if he can prove he can work with a team and make the show a success, the Princess will return an important item to him. But then strange things begin happening on the set, and naturally, the former-villain gets the blame. But Discord insists he's not the one pulling the pranks. Is the reformed villain slipping back into his old ways? Or is someone trying to frame him?Rather than some epic origin story about the villain of chaos, we get a slice-of-life, "day in the life" of Discord, as he tries to fit in with the residents of Ponyville and prove that he's changed. It's interesting to see the point of view of a former villain who's honestly trying his best to be good and make some friends, which makes it sad when no one will give him the benefit of the doubt. Despite this, Discord isn't completely innocent. He learns the adage of the "don't cry wolf" lesson, as well as realizes that he doesn't have to take center stage to be noticed or appreciated. Also, I won't spoil the ending, but it makes a not-so-subtle John DeLancie/Star Trek reference that gave me a good chuckle.While not a tell-all, in depth look at Discord, this is still an entertaining peek into what the former-villain thinks of his change in alignment, and how Ponyville is still adjusting to having the king of chaos as their friend.

We purchased the My Little Pony: Discord and the Ponyville Players Dramarama, after purchasing previous My Little Pony Chapter Books for our daughter. She’s 9 now, so the reading is pretty easy for her, but she loves the story! The My Little Pony Chapter Books are great for young readers! They keep my daughters attention and fall in line with the TV series stories. My daughter really loves the TV show, which helps keeps her attention with the book. If you child is a fan of the My Little Pony – Friendship is Magic TV seris, then they should really enjoy the book as well.My daughter is a very big fan of Discord, so it was great to see the humor from the Discord character from the TV show carry over into the book. This is a great addition to the series that my daughter really loves! We’re looking forward to more books like this for her to read!!

My daughter loves My Little Pony, and I'm a fan of Discord. I purchased this to read to her and not bore me to death. It's a cute little book and the chapters are fairly quick to read through. The print is a good size, and she pretends to read along with me (she's 18 months old so I have no idea what she's saying, but it keeps her interest). She enjoys it, and it's an easy, fun book for mom, as well.

My 5 year old daughter absolutely loves Discord, so I was so excited to see this book come out. I originally thought it would be like the picture books that are geared towards young children (as many of the other MLP books are) but we read it to her anyway and since then we've read the book to her at least 3 times. This was her first chapter book, and a great intro to chapter books.

My son loves the My Little Pony chapter books and this book didn't disappoint him. My only complaint is that the words are large making the book shorter than it looks.

Great book and chapters, wish there were a few more illustrations to keep my little four year old brony intrigued :-/

A cute book about Discord trying to fit in. These books are very in character and my 3 year old son loves us reading them. They also do a good job of fitting within the cannon of the series.

Once again my kids loved hearing this story, just like they have every story so far in this collection, they don't seem to get enough of these story books

Bin mit dem Service sehr zufrieden gewesen.Als MLP FiM Fan ein MUSS für meine Sammlung. Eine tolle Geschichte die Spannend geschrieben ist. Man kann es sich wahrhaftig gut vorstellen, wie Discord zu kämpfen hat und seine Mission erfüllen muss. Kann ich nur empfehlen, wenn man englisch versteht.

It’s a really funny book. l’ll start this collection with this book. Discord is one of my fav characters in the show.
