Aweeeeesome.
If you're looking for a comprehensive resource for NCLEX prep, look no further...this book is fantastic. Extensive topic coverage complete with rationales for every response. Prefer going online to take quizzes? No problem this book's got that, too. (Although the content online is a tad bit confusing to navigate, once you figure out how to get to the quizzes section, you won't forget.) I have several books for review and this one is my personal favorite. Some of my professors loan this text out to students, but I prefer 24/7 availability in my own home! :-) Happy studying, future nurses!UPDATE: I saw sooo many reviewers having trouble getting to the online content to take system-specific quizzes that I decided to post instructions here on how to get to the right place.1) Go to the Pearson Pegasus log-in page once you've set up online access, and log in.2) Click on the book title on the left side of the website.3) On the next page, on the left side near the top, you will see a menu bar that has the following options: "Today's View, Course Content, Grades, Communicate". Look just BELOW this menu bar and you will see the following options: "View All Content, Course Calendar, Learning Objectives."4) Click on Learning Objectives.5) On the left side, you will see the following options: "Client Need, Topics Areas, Integrated Process."6) To take quizzes related to your system or topic of choice, click the plus sign for "Topics Areas".7) Click on your system of choice.8) On the right side, there are several options for that topic of study. Scroll down to the bottom-ish. You will see a heading called "Self Study" for that topic of study. Click on it.9) A separate pop-up window will appear so that you may begin your quiz.I hope this is helpful. If you have any problems or questions, feel free to comment below. Note that the online quiz portion only works with Internet Explorer and certain versions of Firefox, but not with Chrome.

Love it!
I am really happy with this book! I am a first year nursing student in Fundamentals and I've been using this book to review for exams. This is an amazing resource! It definitely goes into quite a bit of detail, which I love, but the really important information that might be on the NCLEX is highlighted. I haven't tried the CD out yet but I'm sure that will be an excellent resource in studying for the NCLEX and to use in future nursing courses. Everyone seems to recommend the Saunders NCLEX book, but after checking it out at the library I didn't find it as helpful and organized as this book. I definitely recommend this book to all nursing students!

PASS MY RN NCLEX WITH THIS BOOK!
I graduated RN school Jan 2016. I knew I was sick of studying Saunders book from LPN school. I heard good things about this book. Its been 4 months since I graduated so I wanted to go back to the basic without going to far back. I reviewed and answered questions in this book from cover to cover. The math was excellent and was not overwhelming! This book and the delegation book I bought I pass my RN NCLEX April 26,2016 1st shot with 127 question. Not once since LPN school did I have to touch that Saunders book. Thank You Mary Ann Hogan!!!!

Not exactly a barrel of monkeys, but hey - this is nursing school.
Generally, there is plenty of useful information in here. I liked to use this book to study for unit tests in nursing school. It was also helpful for decoding some of the more confusing or scattered lectures I encountered. I do think most nursing students will benefit from this book. I also can say that this really did help me prepare for NCLEX. I passed it the first time with 75 questions. I will give this book partial credit for this success. However, I must share two little gripes that made me dock a star in this review. First, what's with the typos? Don't you people proofread? Second, this book is so, so vague at times. For example, when reviewing risk factors for certain disorders, it is not enough to just list "race, age, gender" as risk factors. Wait, you mean certain races/ages/genders are more at risk for specific diseases than others?! No way! Too bad it depends on the disorder...I'm thinking maybe the authors let it go to print this way because they couldn't remember either. And some of the rationales for test answers will make you want to cry, because they are just that nonsensical. That isn't really new when it comes to NCLEX style questions though, so I won't really hold that against them.

Great Review for NCLEX and class
I have to admit that if I had known what a great book this was I would have purchased it without hesitation my first semester in Nursing. The material is very well organized and the type of questions are great to get your mind thinking in NCLEX mode. In addition, it was a great review of material for exams especially seeing areas were I was week and needed the extra review. Highly recommend it, as long as you take your time and review it ahead of time and not the night before.

Best nclex book I have
Best nclex book I have. This alone helped me pass nursing school! Everything is easy broken down and the questions are simple and amazing! HIGHLY recommend this book! I've told all of my nursing friends to buy it and they also swear by it. Use this for nursing school and to brush up for the NCLEX and use uworld for NCLEX prep!

False advertising!
WARNING: FALSE ADVERTISING! The book itself is good, but the only way to access the online practice questions and eText is if your instructor sets up a review course. There is no such thing as a "self-study course" even though the website says there is - I talked to a Pearson representative and this is what she told me. My school doesn't use this review book - I bought it on my own and could not access the online questions, which were half the reason I bought the book to start with. If you just want the book, fine... but if you're expecting to have that online review, make sure your school is on board or you'll be out of luck!

Easy to read
I had gone through many textbooks and by far this textbook is well organised, has a thorough content of information, the test questions are harder than other books. Easy to read, to the point in terms of nursing considerations, provides hints or tips in remembering certain information. Provides well thought out tables to summerize information for example the different types of saline solutions for IVs. I was impressed and passed the licencing exam first time round because of this book.
