Love Amika but was nervous to buy after seeing the reviews on here BUT I LOVE THIS THING. Perfect heat. Straightens. Curls. Shiny. Soft. In love. My clients love it too and my daughter don't cry that it pulls her hair

Product Stopped Working in 9 Months
The heating elements appeared to be working but didn’t feel as hot as other straighteners. Overall, the product worked well, however the straightener completely stopped working (buttons won’t even turn the item on) after 9 months. Recommend getting another straightener since this one isn’t built to last.

Stoops working after a few months, peels even when using low heat.
I’m a salon owner. I just opened my salon two months ago. I thought I would go ahead and buy a new fun flat iron for my new shop. I got it at my local beauty supplier.Normally, I would just use a BioIonic but I wanted to try something new. This flat iron was great for the first five times I used it. I keep it at half the heat around 300 degrees.After the first few times using it it started to peel. Which I think is odd considering the thing heats up to 450 degrees. And something built to withstand heat shouldn’t have any problems with peeling let alone after only a few uses.I’ve been using it maybe twice a week for the last two months and this morning it stopped heating up all together. It turns on but doesn’t get hot. I haven’t had it that long and of course I threw away my warranty so I can’t do anything about that and that’s on me. But I really wasn’t expecting a professional expensive hot tool to break that quickly.I’m not one to be hard on my tools either. I don’t twist cords, I fold them. I take very good care of my tools. So I know this isn’t user error.I’m just very disappointed and not looking forward to having to cough up a bunch of money for a new flat iron after just a few months.Needless to say, I will not be replacing my flat iron with another Amika iron. I’ll stick with BioIonic from here on out.

Doesn't work.
Often it won't turn on and I cannot get a response from Amazon regarding this.

Miss the original ceramic flat!
Just doesn’t work that well and burned out very fast!

Doesn’t heat properly. Hair is frizzy not totally straight. Not good for thick wavy/curly hair.
Don’t buy it.

No longer works after 8 months.
I had the straightener for maybe 8 months and it no longer turns on. Kinda surprised it only lasted that long for the price. There are way better straighteners out there for a fraction of the price.
