Its Just an Icrecream Scoop
I bought this as our last scoop started rusting (nothing like a little iron oxide to ruin your dessert!) and was willing to pay a premium to not need buy to another scoop for a while. I liked it's sleek design, that it was stainless steel (no more rust in our icecream yay!) and dishwasher safe. Like another reviewer stated I wish it was one piece instead of 2 pieces joined together, which I think for the price it should be one piece, I expected more from the Henkels brand. The spoon portion of the scoop is thin but i dip it in hot water for a few minutes before scooping and it cuts through the icecream ok. It works even better if you let the ice cream sit out for a few minutes. It has a good weight to it and feels comfortable in my hand. I paid $21 for the scoop but I've seen it for as low as $15. I recommend buying this only if it's on sale.

The Devil made me do it
Oh jeeze...I should NOT have bought this ice cream scoop! It looks GREAT, hanging with my other stainless steel utensils...Henkles, Rosle, Wusthoff. It looks so good in fact, that I never want to touch it. It's a little piece of art, dangling on my utensil rail - happy as can be....unless I've been drinking... Then it calls to me. It asks me quietly (at first) to come take it off it's hanger and run it under a little warm water. It tells me to walk over to the freezer and get out a pint of Häagen-Dazs...The vanilla with the dark-chocolate covered almonds. It tells me that I'll only need a little bit, and that I will feel SOOooo much better after I eat it. The scoop tells me that I can stop after a 2 or three bites. Seduces me into believing that it will help me resist over-indulgence.The bastard scoop lies. It tells me all these things because I swear it works in concert with the ice cream. Maybe freakin' Häagen-Dazs even bought these scoops from Hell's own William's Sonoma in order to distribute the innocent looking little scoops to unsuspecting customers like me.I don't know. I just know I can't resist the scoop.I think I hear it whispering to me now, in fact...

Handles ice cream very well
I like this little scooper. It's made very well, strong but fairly light weight. It feels good in my hand. The scoop size is smaller than most, but that's probably a good thing really. Makes it seem like your putting more ice cream into your bowl. :)

Solid, Durable and Dishwasher Safe
I bought this because I knew Henckels wouldn't be junk and that it was stainless. It is truly solid stainless design and dishwasher safe. It isn't perfect, hense the 4 stars. spoon part of the scoop is surprisingly thin (it is still very strong). The result is that scoop freezes almost instantly in ice cream. When the scoop freezes, the ice cream freezes in the scoop so it is hard to make a nice round ball of ice cream. You may have to get another spoon to pry the ice cream out or continually warm the scoop in hot water as you serve. It gets high marks for durability and rigid strength to pry out ice cream but it suffers when trying to serve nicely formed balls.

Just another overpriced Chinese-made product.
This ice cream scoop is overpriced for what it is. If you like looking at your flatware, then by all means, go for it. This Henckels scoop is made in China, isn't all that ergonomic and to be honest, doesn't feel like the sturdiest thing in the kitchen. Another reviewer mentioned that the handle end doesn't offer that much gripping area and is uncomfortable to use (especially when the ice cream is rock hard). This assessment is absolutely correct. There are better deals out there, but if a Chinese-made scoop with a German boutique name attached to it is what you're looking for, then the twenty-or-so bucks this costs isn't going to seem like much of a big deal.EDIT: Since I've written this review, the price has dropped by about 60 percent. I wouldn't call it overpriced anymore. The rest of the review stands.

Not Quite the Scoop of Dreams
We were very excited about this scoop, having been through many different ice cream scoops over the years. There is something really challenging about designing ice cream scoops. We want a scoop to be dishwasher safe, comfortable in your hand, good build quality, and most of all, scoop ice cream! This one seems hit on most of these, with the exception of comfortable in your hand. The large "hook" hole in the end of the handle can really irritate your hand when scooping particularly hard ice cream. The handle is also relatively small in diameter, so large hands will not appreciate this feature. Lastly, the actual scoop is smaller than all of our other scoops we have owned, so piling up a mound of scream takes several strokes! I believe the build quality is good, however we have only had it a couple of months.

Muy robusta
Es la primera cuchara para helado que no se deforma al sacar bolas a menos de 20 grados Celsius, como la mayoria de herramientas de esta marca y este estilo es muy bien elaborada...

Sturdy, but I wish it was all one piece
I am glad I finally spent the money and bought a stainless steel scoop. The last two non-stainless ones I had pitted from the dishwasher, and was likely leaching chemicals into my ice cream. I do with this one was all one piece. I think it would last longer if it was. I imagine some day the scoop with detach from the handle, but hopefully not for a very long time!
