It's nice to know that some things never really change. In the 1960s and '70s you could watch badly dubbed Japanese monster movies and assemble and paint plastic model kits made by Aurora. Now, more than three decades later, we're heading to the polyplex, paying $8.50 to watch badly dubbed Japanese monster movies. And because Aurora model kits, too, never did go the way of a Mothra-eaten Tokyo bullet train, it's great to know that a Saturday afternoon spent cementing and painting a plastic model set can be a reality today with kit No. 7502, oh for the love of Godzilla. Included in the box are all the styrene plastic pieces (including dorsal fin, nameplate, and ruined buildings) combining to create His Royal Radioactiveness. Fully diagrammed instructions with assembly and painting hints complete the contents; styrene-compatible glue and the seven-pack of flat paints (gray, green, black, white, red, yellow, and brown) recommended for No. 7502 are sold separately. --Tony Mason
