Innovation Step-by-Step: How to Create and Develop Ideas for your Challenge Paperback – June 12, 2014

This book rocks almost as much as the author!!! I have read and used the book since it first came out. But recently I bought copies of the book for my team. My team and I are creating a documentary and they were all very new to brainstorming, so we got the book to help us. Darin also came in and facilitated a brainstorm session for us. We walked away with over 300 hundred ideas in less than 60 minutes. Darin then helped us analyze and select which ideas to focused on/were some of the best so we could developed them further. I was blown away with what my team and I accomplished in a short amount of time, and how much fun it was for us!Whether using the book or having the privilege of working with Darin, I can't recommend Innovation Step-by-Step enough. It's great for teams of any size and little to no experience in innovation is needed to have an amazing brainstorm session for your team!

Disappointed in this book. Felt like it was very high level and a sales pitch for other products. Many links were broken and some content is dated.

There are 7 steps presented for formulating ideas and moving forward to implementing them. The author uses his personal experiences as examples which may or may not align with your own situation. I modified them to be used within our department for our own unique needs. I did find the book helpful for streamlining the process and getting our group thinking about ways to increase efficiency. I think it's a good read.

Dr. Darin J. Eich's book "Innovation Step-by-Step: How to Create and Develop Ideas for Your Challenge" is a great resource and has an associated online course on the same topic that is sold separately.

It is a simple guide to elaborate a plan about innovation initiatives personal or throughout a team it is useful.

Darin's innovation strategies are supported by many examples in the book, and are also accompanied by step-by-step guidelines that the reader can use to develop his/her next project. I have used the methods discussed in the book to launch many projects. A couple of my highlights from using Darin's work have been, getting accepted into one of the top PhD programs in the field of sustainability and launching an organization that facilitates the growth of social-eco enterprises in Ethiopia.I revisit Darin's work often, especially before I start new projects. It gives me the energy boost and a step-by-step guide on how to tackle the seemingly opaque. I recommend this book and Darin's innovation workshops highly!

There isn't anything wrong with the content. It was just really thin. I was expecting deep and compelling dive into innovation methodology and practice. I probably should've read the description of the product a little more carefully.
