Ash Vs. Evil Dead Ssn 1-3 Coll [Blu-ray]

A laughed so hard it hurt. Brilliant fun but not for the squeamish.

Fantastic feature with the combination of gross and shock horror gore and slap stick high jinx the first Evil Dead features and the Evil Dead: Army of Darkness sequel were famous for, the character of Ash, whose incredible lack of self-consciousness or awareness almost counts as a strength.Its brilliant to see how the writers managed to expand upon the frankly simple plot of the original films, which borders on the almost one dimensional, this is achieved in part by the inclusion of a team of other characters who play of or into Ash's own character and his battles with the Kandarian Demons or Evil Dead, these range from co-workers, to cops, to occultists, survivalists (though I really felt that was all about explaining how and why that Team Ash would be in possession of military grade firearms when it did occur, given that Ash's own arsenal was meant to have originally been what he found by accident in a tool shed next to a cabin the woods) and some sort of witch.The twists and turns of each episode are great and there is a story running throughout, its not all pretext to the next round of fisticuffs between Ash and the latest person to get turned into a snarling, biting, clawing deadite. I loved that they have been able to use content from the original flicks, that they make plenty of jokes about Ash's age (indirectly the age of the movies themselves I guess) and that as much as there is gross out gore there are real laughs, as in when Ash responds to a summoned demon (which is just great BTW, no joke) by suggesting them update their profile pic as he's expected something a little less scary.Some of the purists are perhaps going to get annoyed by the fact that the episodes do include CGI but its good CGI and enough non-CGI effects ARE employed so as to be true to the original movies. Recommended.

This is a really fun series, better than the movies in my opinion. Blu-ray quality is very good.Despite being listed as region A, I live in the UK, and can confirm it works in region B players. Plenty of others had shared such information on forums, so I trusted them enough to pick it up, and I'm glad I did.

Arrived in perfect condition

Everyone's favourite luckless deadite killer is back, and despite the arthritis, midlife spread and a little more grey in his hair, he's not lost a step when it comes to killing those beasts from the pages of the nercronomicon.When I heard about this show, I was a little nervous. Having loved the evil dead films, especially the third, I was curious as to how it would translate into a series, and also if they would be able to recreate that b movie magic. Thankfully, after about half an episode, all my fears were put to rest.The one liners come thick and fast. Bruce Campbell and his portrayal of the chosen one is as brilliant as ever, and the new characters fit perfectly with the story, especially Ruby, played by the ever lovely Lucy Lawless. The series is relatively short, compared to the 24+ episode series many US tv shows put out, but it allows the story to keep gunning ahead at speed without a dull moment in sight.Whilst the ending was a bit of a surprise, it certainly made me excited for season 2.At the time of this purchase, Amazon video was the only way I could get this in HD in the UK without forking out for a US blu-ray import.

Despite being cancelled; this series has 3 complete seasons to offer and gives fans a better understanding of the Evil Dead Universe.Bruce Cambell’s return as Ash Williams is obviously the best thing about this show but that doesn’t prevent new characters getting the spotlight.A must for Evil Dead fans.

Better more gory more fun, than I expected well worth the wait, Bruce Campbell returns in great style. This follows on from the events of the 2nd movie EVIL DEAD 2 but not necessary viewing in the series as everything is relatively explained for possible new fans, has great gore effects good action not restricted in rating so really can have the gore level high, great characters humour, 30 minutes an episode leads to perfect formulae of story/ action comedy great pacing all have a cliff-hanger endings, season two has been ordered already look forward to that.

Wanted to see what the hype was on this. I had no idea it was a continuation of the Evil Dead series.I was very impressed with the episode, its funny, tongue in cheek and gory, thoroughly enjoyed it. Will now be downloading the rest of the series!!!

This series has placed it among Kolchak's Night Stalker, The Outer Limits, Night Gallery, The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt & Tales from the dark Side & From Beyond as offering up many hours of frightening fun! Do not hesitate to add this to your collection! It contains hours of fun & action! In the future the trilogy along with this series will be acknowledged as one of horror/comedies greatest success stories! Purchase with full confidence, & get it while the price is right! a year from now it may cost $100+!!!

Fantastic series, Ash is back to his usual tricks and hijinks and that should be enough, but add in the supporting characters and the excellent deadites and we have a homerun out of the ballpark. The only complaint I have is that the series ended after 3 seasons, I would've loved to see this one play out over 10 or so years. Either way, definitely worth the price of admission to add to your collection.
