Good playability and sound
I bought this Wick 4B from Amazon for my cornet and have been playing with it exclusively for about a week and a half now. I really like it.It has a deeper cup and more open bore than I'm used to, but I've been giving myself some time to adjust. It's coming together better than I expected. Responsiveness was good right away, and my sound is starting to focus. My intonation has been off a bit, but that's my fault, not the piece---anyway, that's starting to come around too.I had read some comments from other cornet players on web forums who said that they thought the inside of the rim on Wick pieces was too sharp, which made endurance difficult. This hasn't been a problem for me at all. I think the shape of the mouthpiece is really good, playable and comfortable.The main reason I bought this piece was to try and get more of a characteristic cornet sound with my cornet playing---less "trumpety." The Wick 4B gives me that. It isn't a drastic difference, but my sound is more "cornety" than what I was getting with my Bach-style pieces. Just a shade darker, but still clear and resonant, not muffled, and with a somewhat brighter sound within reach if I drive the air a bit.I'm happy with my purchase, and I'd recommend this piece to other cornet players.

For Advanced strong players....gives true cornet sound.
It is a big cup so it takes more air to make it speak. If you are after a nice big round cornet sound, this mouthpiece is worth a try...

Shipping damaged the box
Is there a place for me to complain about the shipping? This mouthpiece is intended to be a gift and the box is pretty beat up from its journey. The mouthpiece itself seems fine, but couldn’t it be protected better during shipping?

Really depends on what type of sound you are looking for. Me personally as a jazz playing I prefer really old type of sound. This mouthpiece is a little bit large size as a flugelhorn mouthpiece, it creates a sound like a trumpet which is really not my thing because honestly if I want a trumpet sound why dont i just play a trumpet... anyway this product is fine for what it is

Nice Mouthpiece
My son is a beginner coronet player. He likes the mouthpiece better than the original that came with his horn.
