I wanted a simple wifi enabled cheap product to tell me the humidity and temperature of my remote engineering workshop and my loft. Since my Engineering workshop is the other end of the garden and contains many bare metal machine tools it’s imperative its kept dry so i wanted a remote sensor that i could check remotely to ensure it was dry in the workshop. I also have several data servers in my loft which i need to keep an eye on in terms of low temperatures and moisture in the winter and high temperatures in the summer. I am a technical manager for an electronic control company specialising in HVAC systems so this is something i’m very familiar with. My system is to complex for this application so i resorted to these sensors. on delivery i was impressed, the product has a simple box and guide, the sensor is very small and has a usb for power and comes with a sticky pad and screw for mounting. At first it would not connect to my Wifi AP, i went for the alternate option which was connecting directly to the sensors wifi with my phone, it failed first time but worked the second, they now flawlessly connect to my wifi AP’s. The smart life app is basic and only displays current temp and humidity, a history of those would be useful but this is not a problem. They do seem to be accurate and update data regularly. They do not require battery's to work when plugged into the usb, they also have a non volatile memory so remember there wifi settings so i don’t see the need for the battery backup at all really so it’s nice you don’t have to use it. I don’t use the alarm feature but it is jolly loud. Overall after about 2 weeks use i’m very happy.

Firstly the product itself works fine out of the box with its own application “Smart Life”, so why only 2 stars?Unfortunately my main purpose of buying this was to use with an Echo Dot (Alexa), but unfortunately the Alexa “skill” does very little apart from sound the inbuilt alarm via voice control!?If you follow the Alexa instructions on the Amazon description to the letter, and ask Alexa “what’s the temperature right now?” It’ll appear to work, but Alexa is in fact giving you the OUTSIDE temperature, not the temperature the device displays in “Smart Life”, which may fool some people into believing it’s working okay with Alexa, when it’s actually not.I am in communication with their technical support team, so I am hoping that I’ll be able to revise this review soon and give them a 5 stars! But for now, 2 stars seems a fair score especially since they actually give inaccurate Alexa commands in the description!Come on developers update this! Fundamentally it’s actually a great product...Updated 18/12/19Note: The description has now been updated to clarify the Alexa compatibility issue (which they are currently working on) and they kindly refunded my money, so raised the rating to reflect that

Seller claims you can configure this to tell you the temperature via Alex of it's location, and even in support emails post purchase still claims this works. It does not work. It may work as a temperature regulated switch, it can turn on a fan if it gets too hot or a heater if it gets too cold - whatever you link it up to, but certainly is NOT able to report the current temperature via Alexa yet, despite their claims. Bought 2 and returned 2 as not as described and did not do what I needed them to.

Quite easy to setup and use. No good for outdoors unless it's in a waterproof place. Also no point installing a battery (which are expensive). They last 2 days. If installing in greenhouse, make sure you have a 240v socket with a 5amp usb on it. Supplied usb cable very short. Needs to be plugged in continuously. The app also could do with some work as features are limited. I bought this for my veg box at the end of the garden but its useless as running on battery. Cant really see the point in this product to be honest if you need to plug it in. Ok if your greenhouse has sockets but most dont. Pretty disappointed overall. Spend your money on something worthwhile.

Despite mixed reviews I have no problem with this good gadget. It is exactly what I wanted and does the job well. This is wifi, not Bluetooth, which is exactly what I wanted. I fitted it outdoors, protected from the rain, to give me a remote thermometer when I’m away from home. I don’t need an alarm (just set alarm duration to zero) and I don’t need battery backup (odd sized batteries anyway). The instructions were not detaied enough to make installation easy but they were good enough for me to stumble my way through. The histogram of historical temp and humidity is a good feature, although the app labels for them are in Mandarin!

I bought this to keep an eye on the temps in our loft as we have a load of new pipes running up there and I was paranoid of them possibly freezing over the Winter. It doesn't come with a power adaptor, which for the price I think it should, so you'll probably want one of those. I think it takes a battery but I wanted this to be always monitoring and not missing the important bit due to a dead battery.Simple to add to the Smart Life app I already had installed on my phone. I set it up to sound an alarm when it got down close to zero degrees and it's simple to monitor and set the alarm from the app. Accuracy seems OK from what I can tell. Ideally I'd have it set up with ITTT with my thermostat to have it start pumping hot water around when the temps got low, but the ITTT functionality with the thermostat is not great so the limitation is there rather than with this.Helpful gadget that seems to do the job. For the price though, I think it should have come with a USB power adaptor.

Petit et discret, il peut être alimenté en Micro USB ce qui évite d'avoir a changer les piles en permanence.Dans l'application, on a la température l'humidité et une fonction d'alarme.Tous ces éléments (alarme, température, humidité) peuvent être utilisés dans des scénarios Smart Life / Tuya (Exemple : Allumer un appareil si la température est inférieur à 20°C)L'alarme sert à avoir un retour si la température ou l'humidité est supérieur/inférieur à un seuil que l'on a défini. Elle peut aussi être utilisé dans des scénarios (Exemple : Détecteur d'ouverture sur Tuya peut déclencher l'alarme).On peut recevoir des notifications en plus de l'alarme pour savoir si la température ou l'humidité est bonne (pratique lorsque l'on est pas chez soi). Elle peut également être désactivée totalement pour que l'on ait uniquement les informations dans l'application, et donc sans avoir une sirène dans sa maison.Seul produit vraiment complet avec température et humidité sur Smart Life / Tuya. J'ai acheté ce produit pour m'en servir de sonde de température connectée, via l'application SmartLife / TuyaLife. J'ai été un peu déçu pour les raisons suivantes:- la pile n'est pas fournie et celle-ci n'est pas des plus classiques (cependant, cette information est indiquée sur la page de l'objet, c'est donc de ma faute si je n'ai pas bien lu)- le manuel est incomplet (pas d'explication sur l'ouverture du boitier), générique (peu précis car identique pour plusieurs appareils) et mal traduit de l'anglais- La connexion avec l'appli SmartLife est problèmatique: Après quelques tests, cela semble venir d'un mauvais contact avec le cable USB, qui coupe l'alimentation. Il est donc necessaire de bien brancher le capteur, puis d'éviter de le déplacer- A la réception du capteur, j'ai été particulièrement déçu par sa précision (jusqu'à +/- 1.5°C par rapport aux autres thermomètres utilisés pour faire un étalonage, soit une incertitude de 3°C). Cependant, après quelques jours d'utilisation, celui-ci est devenu plus précis (+/- 0.5°C, ce qui devient tout à fait acceptable). Je suppose que cela vient du fait que j'habite en altitude (la sonde de température dépendrait aussi de la pression atmo?), mais aucune certitude...Je n'ai pas vraiment d'usage pour les autres fonctionnalités (sonde hydrométrique, et système d'alarme), de sorte que je ne peux pas fournir d'avis.Finalement, pour l'usage que je lui destinais, ce capteur est peu adapté, mais n'en ayant pas trouvé de plus adapté à un prix abordable, il me semble normal de devoir m'en contenter.
