Brazilian Guitar - Stylistic Supplement To The Hal Leonard Guitar Method (Book/Audio)

Great intro to Brazilian guitar, great complement to Bossa Nova guitar by the same author. If you are looking to learn a unique style that stands out from the crowd, sounds so smooth and soothing and that is a blast to play I recommend this book. This book will also probably improve your rhythm playing across other styles.

This is not a beginner's book; it is bit beyond my ability. I will try to learn what I can from it.

Excellent delivery. Faultless. Hard to offer a definitive review as I am currently working through this AND the bossa nova edition. The lessons and overview are ideal for me. The cd is invaluable and of course, gives you something to aim for. I would definately use this seller again.

Mein brasilianischer Gitarrenlehrer hat mir das Buch empfohlen, obwohl er das Buch "etwas zu amerikanisch" bezeichnete.Das Buch liefert eine gute Übersicht über Brasilianische Musik und ich habe es schon mehrmals durchgelesen.Auf YT findet man auch sehr gute oder sogar bessere Tutorials für die Lieder, die im Buch vorgeschlagen werden. Aber das Buch erklärt der Ursprung und Zusammenhang zwischen den verschiedenen Rythmen und ausserdem werden Lieder in leicht vereinfachten Form vorgeschlagen und sind für weniger fortgeschnittene Studenten geeignet (Bossa Nova Jazz Akkorden können kompliziert sein).Lieder werden mit Partitur+Tabulatur für Gitarre und Liedtext (aber ohne Partitur für das Lied!). Ich singe auch gerne mit und finde es schwierig, die Songs ohne Liedpartitur zu lernen, deswegen "nur" 4 Stern für ein exzellentes Buch.

A brilliant book in so many ways. Everything you need to start learning, playing and composing Brazilian guitar. Beautiful arrangements of traditional melodies.

I like it. Notes and tabs, step by step, 17 great songs.... Exactly as they said.One thing I don't like is that the songs have no English translation. I suppose one could figure it out, Spanish isn't that hard, but it a little annoying. The audio track CD is very good ... clear, fast but not so fast that it hopeless to follow. I find I'm trying to match the sound on the CD. Unlike some audio track CD this seems to be so far pure guitar playing so -- it is possible to match the sound pretty close -- which is what I like.
