Extremely Durable!
I had a 4500 mile road trip for the holidays visiting family. I strapped the bag down inside a Thule Canyon XL roof basket. I drive through snow storms, extreme winds and the constant heavy rain fall thatโs hitting the west coast. As far as durability, the bag still looks new. It held up extremely well and for 35$ I donโt think there is a better value. The bag fit inside the basket perfectly and fits a ton of stuff. The brand claims the bag to be water resistant not water proof and I can testify that being the case. Driving through Wyoming and Utah with light snow fall, no moisture got inside the bag. Driving through Oregon with heavy snow fall, the bah noticeably held water in the fabric. During the California rain storms, the bag was soaked on the outside, and some got through to the inside.I had planned for this to happen, so we packed all of our belongings in Rock Cloud Dry Bags from Amazon and they worked perfectly. All in all, unless you truly need a water proof bag, and canโt pack in dry bags, this is the best all around solution for a roof bag. For my next trip Iโm going to attempt to scotch guard waterproof the bag to see if that holds up.

rooftop bag
bought in april 2013 for spring break trip. 500 miles. Rained all the way there. None of our bags got wet. that was awesome. but when i took it down that night, there was a small rip. possibly my fault because of the leg of the suitcase. The downfall was that above the zipper on the inside, the lining started to fall apart. Good enough for the price i paid. Will probably get another trip or so out of it if it does not rain anymore. Can patch the hole but not sure about the crumbling lining. some people had plastic totes strapped to the roof. May try that next time. taking a tarp in case it rains next trip because it will soak through the lining. Came in very handy though. Holds quite a bit.Packed 3 rolling bags.sm to med. 2 small duffels and some beach towels. recommend packing duffel bags and thick plastic bags. wont rip anything and can fit it much more than big suitcases. Put them in the back of the van on ride home and packing was easier.

Ripped apart within the first few hundred miles!
This bag started ripping apart after a few hundred miles on the road. I had a double stroller and two carry on's that made the bag uneven on top. On our first stop everything seemed fine. But then I started hearing a loud flapping sound. we stopped to take a look and sure enough the bag had started ripping at the ends.I initially thought it might have something to do with my packing. The idea is to pack the bag such that there is no air space inside the bag that might cause the bag to flap in the wind causing it to rip.Anyway I bought a $20 bag at wal-mart for our return trip and this time instead to packing it uneven I made sure to stuff things inside to make it even. we separated stuff and put them in small poly bags to go inside the unfilled spaces inside the bag. we made out 17 hour return trip without a rip.So either its the bag which is of poor quality or the way you pack it. but in any case if you do buy this bag make sure to pack it full and even.

Well worth the less than $50 price!
Used only once so far: A 600 mile trip, 400 miles of which was in pouring rain. As expected, the bag leaked. Had all contents in large plastic bags, so the contents remained dry. If you want waterproof, buy a $200 - $600 plastic shell cargo carrier. I like the folding storage and price of the bag. I packed it tight and full as recommended so there would be no flapping surfaces. After stops to check the straps at increasing speeds, drove up to 80 mph (before we hit the rain), with no noise or damage from the cargo bag.

Very nice bag but had a corner seam manufacture defect
I got the bag and it worked great. They only negative is the on one corner the seams came undone just from the wind blowing while driving. This looks to be a manufacture defect. Otherwise the cargo bag is well made and the straps work well.

Sturdy cargo bag carrier
We were moving across country and needed a carrier to be able to fit all our luggage. Hardtop carriers are so expensive and so we looked for a soft cargo bag style. This cargo bag arrived within a few days and fit everything we needed. It held up perfectly during our move and we have used it for camping since. We haven't had any issues woth it at all in the six months of using it. I will update as we use it more this summer for camping.

Poor Quality
This ripped within the first 4 hours of a cross country trip. We only put soft thing in it as well, pillows sleeping bags and blankets. I was raining when we left luckily I but everything in plastic bags and then in the topper. At the next rest stop everything seemed fine, but the bags were getting wet inside. Then at the next gas station for a fill up we discovered the rip. The corner was all frayed and stuff was poking out. We had to cram everything underneath our buts to fit inside the car. We went to walmart and bought on of their topper, since we weren't going to have an address for a few weeks. I missed out on the return time as well because I was on the road. My loss but I wouldn't recommend that anyone purchase this topper. The walmart one held up the rest of the trip even through some nasty thunder storms, same price!
