Excellent learning tool for teaching seasons to TK students!
The game has 4 sturdy cards, 4 cute little seasonal pillows, and several cards. I used this game with a group of TK kids, and they enjoyed matching the cards to the appropriate season. We put the 4 season cards out in the center of the table, and each student took turns matching the cards to the season. The game also came with a reference sheet for checking which season each card belonged.

Great art
I find that a lot of catagorizing and sorting games rely on pictures against a white background. I really enjoy the fact that these cards are full, colorful scenes, and that many can even be used to talk about actions and sequences. Everything seems sturdy, too. An overall positive recommendation!

Not flexible enough for kids.
I like the idea behind this game, but not all of the cards work. They have a chart for which card belongs to which season. I would let the child argue their point and if it is valid, give them the game point. Why are oranges winter when they grow all year? Why are birds flying autumn, when you can't tell if they are migrating north or south? Why are butterflies spring when you also see them in the summer? Can you only fly kites in the spring? Do you only eat ice cream cones in the summer? Are there only flowers in the spring, or in the summer, too? Can you only see rainbows in the spring? Can you only swin outside in the summer, even if you live somewhere warm or have a family tradition if going on a winter vacation to a warm location?I'm not trying to sound petty. It is good to teach kids about the seasons. I just think that in a game like this you need to have room to allow the children to think logically and creatively. There doesn't have to be a right and wrong answer and long as they are communicating and learning. The pieces are well made and I like the little felt pieces. We will keep playing the game, just in our own way.

SO … WE LIVE IN FLORIDA …
The more I think about it, the less I like the Eurocentric way we teach seasons in this country. This idea of the four seasons applies to Europe and some (but not all) of the states in the U.S. It certainly doesn't apply to Florida.During the pandemic, our big question about children's products is always: Is it wipeable?? I'm going to go with a yes, except for the felt pieces which are actually unnecessary to play this game.More than anything, this game encourages conversation and cooperative gameplay. It's a good game for what it is. BUT the categorization employed would make no sense to a small child living in Florida. We don't get snow here, and leaves fall off the trees – I kid you not – in February. It's a good game. Everything is well made and well thought out. I've been snapping up all of the Chalk & Chuckles products because they are invariably good.

The seasons, they go round and round
Chalk and Chuckles Season Wise is a great categorization game that can be used during virtual teaching…..so first a big thank you.It comes with the four seasons made of sturdy cards and 4 corresponding matching small beanbags. The educational game includes 40 colorful and versatile element cards. The first player to match the element cards with the season….keeps that card. For virtual learning the game can be adapted and played by either calling out the correct answer or writing the correct answer on a whiteboard. When back inside brick and mortar again, this game helps with visual scanning, figure ground and eye-hand coordination. It can also start a conversation about what we wear during each season and what holidays fall during the seasons. The company suggests between ages 3-6. I actually think some of the element cards takes some thinking to match.
