They looked nice, but the bottoms came off after first use of less than an hour.

The strap broke when I tried to moved it over the heal of my shoes. It worked great anyway so I'm happy.

Could have been better. They don't cover the feet at all. I had to buy velcro to adjust the tightness around the calves.

The men's black Adult Steampunk Suede Spats were bought to go with my knight's costume. They worked well. The enclosure style is velcro, but it's run as one strip all the way down with no additional width for much size adjustment. They did fit a little big on me and I'm 5' 7'' 153lbs. However, even though they were a little loose, the material has enough rigidity that they did not sag or fall down. At the bottom of the spats is a bungee cord to wrap around the heel of your boot which helps it stay in place without spinning, this strap pulled out from its stitching on one of them the second time I was putting them on. I can easily fix this with a sewing kit though. All in all, this is a great set, especially for the money.

These suede-textured black spats are meant to hide the hems of your costume pants, and/or disguise your street shoes as some manner of period-appropriate footwear.They're not fancy: those aren't real snaps, it's not real leather, it takes a little effort to get the velcro to seal smoothly. They don't exactly match any black leather shoes I've had, but are "close enough" in low light. The elastic band that goes around the bottom of your shoe and keeps each spat in place tends to pull the spat downwards, so you have to tug them back up periodically, or find yourself walking on them. The velcro strip is narrow in the vertical direction; if you're really skinny or really muscular, these won't fit. They work fine for an "average" build.Those complaints stated, I actually didn't expect much for the price, and they're better than I've come to expect from Forum Novelties since they actually worked out. I used several Forum Novelties items this Halloween season, and most of them were disappointing (cheap construction, poor fit, not well thought out)-- this is the only item from them that I sort of "liked".For a quick costume effort these spats work fine, and I used mine as part of a Steampunk costume. Serious cosplay or other dress-up requires a decent pair of real boots, but these will do when you're in a hurry or on a budget. Recommended.

I was surprised how great they were. Only think is the front looks odd but you wouldn't notice it unless you look close.

They are good meterial and nice looking and is what you looking for but they are on the big side.

absolute crap these should be removed from amazon asap as they were to big to the point they woud fit an elephant and the elestic is rubish these are not spats there just bits of felt made into a heap of crap
