That thing at the bottom of the boots is called a Tipper
These boots are great but they don't come with instructions and unlike normal boots - these NEED instructions. That thing at the bottom of the box? Nope, it wasn't accidentally dropped in the box during manufacturing. That is called a Tipper. It is the tool you need to use to flip the red plastic onto its other side so the spikes are engaged in the boot's sole. Flip out the metal lever on the Tipper and dig it under the round part of the plastic of the underside of the boot. Then flop the plastic so the spikes are on the outside of the sole. Do this for the front plastic and the heel plastic. Use the little hole on the Tipper and fit a spike in and push down so the plastic fits nicely into the shaped ridges of the sole. Do the opposite to hide the spikes. Two pairs of boots in one. Spiked soled boots for snow and traction and flat rubber soled boots for everyday wear.
