This thing is soooooo awesome if you're cutting foam insulation.We use foam insulation boards to make props for our ice skating show and we're wondering why/how we didn't find this cutter sooner! It makes it sooooo quick and easy and does save us lots of time trouble! It heats up quick and if you're doing a big project,make sure you're in a well ventilated area as the melting foam board gets a bit stinky .Cuts through like a hot knife cutting butter leaving the edges nice and smooth!

This heat cutter is easy to use, at first it might take you some time to get used to it. But once you get the right point, you can find that the cutting is easy and you can maintain control of the cut resulting in a clean straight cut. Too hot and it will go through the material too fast and out of control, too cold and it requires greater effort to move through the material. For me it is easy to use and works well! I bought it to cut expanding foam, and while slow and a bit smokey, it does what i needed it to!

I have tried a cheaper foam cutter before this, and returned it immediately after figuring out the difference between this and the cheaper one. I'm busting up some medical grade Styrofoam coolers, with walls about 2". The new hot knife cuts through these coolers without any feels of being blocked. Compared with 15w cutter, that one is more like a "toy". It is strongly advised to use outdoors or with excellent ventilation. I also used a respirator.

The cutter heats up in minutes, I really like how quickly this unit heats up and its trigger mechanism. When you receive the parcel, you will be impressed by the quality of it. The ability to cut straight lines is great. Cord is of high quality. Blade will seemingly last for several cutting cycles. I use it for my model railroading hobby. Truly solid value for the money. Recommended.

This was mainly bought to use for craft projects and so far it works great! After taking a few tries, I’ve successfully cut out various shapes and letters so far. The instructions were clear and it includes a few blades, a cleaning brush, and a little wrench for tightening and loosening the blade holder, all in a compact hard case. I’d recommend!
