Worth the wait for delivery
We have a grey water line. For city folks- that's an underground line that's common in rural areas for sinks, dishwasher etc., typically running downhill and exiting on top of the ground, far from the house. I know, it sounds gross, and what comes out of the pipe is gross, but we're renting an old farmhouse, so there you go. Ours had an obvious block which called for immediate attention since the draining water was squirting out of a vent pipe. I tried vinegar and baking soda, bought a 25' pipe cleaner at the W store. Nothing. We live 40 miles from a "real" store other than the poorly stocked W store, so I chose to wait a couple of days for delivery of this 50' unit. SO worth the wait as the plug was a full 46' in from the end. All is well now. Best price, good product.

Handy but crank handle is useless.
Handy if you can manually shove it down the drain but the crank handle is useless. I’d give it five stars if the crank worked.

Works, inexpensive, needs mods
The snake is long enough for most residential jobs and, importantly, it cleared my clog that was almost 40' deep. However, it has to be fed through a series of pipes and driven by a drill (second person required). The supplied handle is impractical except for a very short run. Best to use several pipes of different diameter so that they can be collapsed into each other as the snake is fed and twisted by the drill into the drain.

Good snake for small diameter drains
Good quality and has the length to clean drains from the roof vent. Purchased this snake due to the ones from the big box stores were not only half the length but were too large for a single sink drain.I was able to clean one drain so far with this tool twice now to fully clear the drain pipe. Clog was broken free on initial cleaning but collected farther down the drain and within a couple weeks was clogged. On second visit used almost its full length and was able to clear the drain to the main pipe.Only problem with it is I had to constantly adjust the set screw on the handle to make it longer but that is what makes it a decent price. Also used the protruding set screw to help turn the snake while in the drain but not with excessive force. Would be nice in a housing like my 25 ft snake, but stores nicely coiled in a 2.5 gallon round bucket. The housing that you can purchase with this snake didn’t seem like it was worth the extra price due the reviews others have made on it. Recommend spraying with a rust preventer after each use that is also why I keep it in a bucket.

Worked perfect for what I needed!
Purchased this item to clear a clog in my kennel drains. Drains we're clogged with dog hair and other debris. Pushed this down the drain and after about 20 feet hit the clog. I worked it for 30 seconds and cleared the clog right up. Finished pushing the rest of the 50 ft down and let the water run for a few minutes, problem was taken care of! This was exactly what I needed!

solid product
my issue was a clogged drain PVC pipe in the basement. Blockage was about 9 feet into the pipe and I had to remove the trap assembly and go through the main pvc 1'1/2 pipe. Had a tough time getting the head to turn through the 45 degree angle in the basement but I gently worked it through and was able to push the blockage into the large main drain pipe. Also cleaned out the other part of the 2' pipe through a clean out while I had it handy. I had no issues and based on the length of this snake and the accessibility in my home I see no problems this product cannot handle

Didn't work
This product is not easy to use. Thought mine was defective, but after reading a review for the 1/2 inch version of this product, seems that just poorly made (or all of them are defective). The twist handle just does not work - I twisted and turned and couldn't get it to do anything to the cable. I'm not that handy, but I spent about 2 hours trying and reading on internet / watching Youtube videos with no luck. Check out the review on the 1/2 inch product that has a video - that guy had same problem.I attached a water proof endoscope camera to this to see how it progressed through my drain. Got through the drain trap OK, then got about 8 more feet up until a curve in the pipe. This thing could NOT get past that u shape curve no matter how hard I pushed / twisted / turned it -- with or without the camera attached to it. At first, thought I had reached a clog, but when I attached the camera I saw it was just a u shape turn in my pipe that this thing could not bend itself past.Returning the product.
