This book is my guidance, mentor, and best friend
I love this book very much! There are so many reasons why I love this book but first of all, it is very easy to read. Although the authors include technical terms they explain in detail to the point anyone regardless of their fields of interest would be able to have a great understanding of SLA and its pedagogies. Two of my professors picked this book as the assigned textbook, one for undergrad course and another for a graduate-level course! As I was developing and teaching an adult ESL course on my own, this textbook helped me so much, and without this book, I don't think I would've been able to teach as well as I did. If you are going to teach an ESL or EFL course, definitely read this book! Especially, those of whom have no teaching background teaching in EFL classes! This book will teach and help you understand any questions that you may have! Great book! Thank you, Dr. Brown and Dr. Lee!

Important reference book
I had to read this for my master's. It is very comprehensive and includes so many references to important authors in the field. It is a good reference book, if you are doing research or writing papers based on current ESL theory.

Very useful
I bought this as a set text for teacher training. It will remain in my library for long after because it is current and practical. It falls into the category of textbooks that are easy to read since they are so we'll written.

Great if you're going to become an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. LOTS of jargon, good perspective on the history of teaching English, and the progression of various techniques for teaching English.

I have been reading this book for a graduate level course. I would say Brown and Lee do not provide enough examples of concepts they are talking about, specifically in the Speaking, Reading, Listening portions of their book. They are also oddly non-specific in the boxes meant to expound more on a concept mentioned in the paragraph above it. This book leaves something to be desired but is an interesting read regarding pedagogy and why we should or shouldn't teach a certain way.

A must have
This book not only touches on how to teach English Language Learners, but also how to approach the teaching profession, and the tools that teachers need to succeed. This book offers many examples, activities/scenarios and really touches on important topics. I recommend this book to anyone going into the teaching profession.

avoid!
Really hard to understand not only for foreigners but also for natives! Where an idea or thought could have been described in one sentence, the author spends one or two paragraphs. Really really badly written! Avoid at all cost!
