Works great.
I was concerned about maybe this being a little too big, but after using it the larger size is very convenient.

Simple and sturdy (UPDATED)
The media could not be loaded. Update: I have used this food processor three times now.1. chopped carrots with the S blade. Fantastic! The grain of the chopped carrot is so much finer than with my previous processor. It makes it so much more enjoyable to put in salads and add to spaghetti sauce. The bowl got a slight orange tone but washed right off.2. made pie crust with the S blade. Worked great except the flour kind of flew all over the place. Apparently that is a great way to check if your food processor is fully waterproof :-) The flour came out through the top of the processor. I will probably change the way I make the pie crust but will continue to use this appliance for it. It makes it super fast and easy.3. sliced potatoes for potatoes au gratin with the slicing blade. Wow!!! It works so well for it. No mess, no slicing of my finger on a mandolin and no more than a minute to 3 pounds of potatoes perfectly sliced. This by itself makes me love this food processor.I still haven't used the grating blades but if they are as effective as the slicing blade I think I will be very pleased.*********I just received this food processor. It seems to be everything I expected as described. The size is perfect for a family of 5. It feels sturdy and has a very simple design. I don't like it when appliances have a bunch of slightly different functions that intend to add value when it really doesn't. This food processor is perfectly straight forward and compact.

Solid kitchen tool
After my very old/they don’t make ‘em like that anymore(Sears)processor broke, I was very sad. But I’d always wanted a cuisinart so after 30 years I decided now was the time. This is cuisinart number two, after I purchased a huge 1000 watt cuisinart elite 2.0 model for a great deal considering the wattage, warranty and options. But, I’m not a fan of the gasket it has... while I see it could be useful for certain things, cabbage got stuck around it first time I used it for coleslaw. I packed it back up and looked here on Amazon for something simpler, less trouble. I found this smaller cuisinart, no gasket. With the very simple, click on the workbowl, insert blade, click on lid and process. Cleanup is much easier than the elite model. I am probably going to send it back and get the basic 14 cup for a larger option to have on hand. But I really like this basic cuisinart and it’s staying right here 😉Highly recommend...for a good price it still feels pretty powerful, does it’s job(s) and cleanup is easy. It’s not so heavy that you dread getting it out either. Glad I got this one!Ps. The stem is a little wobbly but husband thinks it’s ok. There’s a stabilizing hole in the bowl lid. Doesn’t affect performance, I’mnot worried about it.Also, chopping blade is ULTRA sharp, be VERY careful, lesson learned there.

Five stars for open box (only a partial product review), four for item itself
I fully expected this Cuisinart not to be built as robustly as my previous ones, but it still seemed like the best bang for the buck. As usual, I look at open box listings first since I have done this many times on Amazon and have never been disappointed. This one said there may be a large cosmetic imperfection (same for other items!) Nope, looks good as new. It works perfectly and the build quality met my expectations of "adequate" though it is obviously too early to say anything about longevity. Not crazy about the way the center stalk is permanently mounted, have to store it sideways in a cabinet. The blade is much thinner and lighter than earlier versions, but so far has done the trick on completely pulverizing. Annoying high pitched whine, so we keep some noise suppressing headphones nearby! Much better than the Ninja (the most recent replacement for our Cuisinarts) which has a dangerous tiered blade system that is hard to clean, leaves a lot of unprocessed pieces below the blade bottom, and also has bowl ridges which makes it very difficult to get everything out with a spatula.

Helped My Grandmother Recover from Her Stroke
I bought this for my family to use after my grandmother had a stroke. She was unable to chew much or swallow very well, so we had to find a way to make her tasty meals that would cause harm. This food processor was instrumental in allowing us to puree her meals and get her the flavorful and nutritious food she needed and wanted. She is very picky when it comes to flavor and texture, but thanks to the food processor handling hot ingredients and really getting all the flavor out of everything, she could handle the texture anyway. She has recovered enough to eat non-liquid meals and some small bits of food, and we still use the food processor to make sauces and fruit drinks and the odd culinary experiment. Not something we use all the time, but something that was absolutely instrumental in helping prop back up a life when it was needed. An excellent product that did more for my grandmother than a handful of apathetic visiting nurses. Thank you, Cuisinart!

Love this food processor, slicer, shredder
The media could not be loaded. I got my Cuisinart Element 8 and immediately tried it out in my kitchen. As you can see, I made about 2lbs of hummus and sliced up a cucumber, and red and green peppers. I was able to do all of this in about 10 minutes with no mess or leaks. I like the ease of assembly. On first use, be careful to slowly seat the plastic bowl in the base, and likewise take your time getting the lid to seat on the plastic bowl. Once assembled, next time is a cinch and using the processing blade and slicers is quick and easy, I love it, and am enjoying some of the freshly made hummus in between writing sentences of this review. Seems to work great, and the hummus came out creamy smooth in under a minute. My old little 2 cup Kitchen Aid model took about 5 minutes to make hummus and it was still a bit lumpy- not this baby as it has plenty power and quickly processes the beans to a smooth and creamy consistency. I love it and think the Cuisinart Element 8 is a good value as priced on Amazon and I’ll be using it several times a week to speed up my processing, slicing and dicing tasks. It makes these timing consuming and messy tasks quick and easy. Stop shopping, just buy it and enjoy!
