Q: Is the wood handle treated at all? I know some handles shouldn't even get wet. Just wondering if it's a high-maintenance knife...

I don't think the handle is treated but in my opinion it is a very good looking, low maintenance knife. I get it wet all the time with no issues.

It comes in a clear plastic case with a cardboard insert with messermeister logos on it. Easy to wrap as a gift.
