Tried a KMC 12sp chain with Shimano SLX M7100, 12-speed drive and it jumped on smallest gear, replaced with Shimano chain and no jumping.

I received a legit Shimano SLX chain, but watch out for counterfeits from sketchy sellers.Installation:Shimano recommends +5-6 links after routing the chain around your largest cog and chainring on a full suspension bike. I found this to be incorrect, because my bike wouldn't shift out of the lowest gear. As soon as I switched back to +4 links, shifting returned to normal. With the added 6 links, I set the recommended B limit, and I also tried adjusting my B limit both ways for a couple hours to no avail. I then replaced my shift housing and cable, hoping that would resolve the issue. Yeah-no. Just ignore the Shimano instructions regarding chain length.
