We are really looking forward to using this! My husband and I opened it up to see what we were dealing with and my son ran out of the room because he didn’t want to “ruin the surprise”.I’m glad we did open at as it has you putting the lights at the end. Every tree we have ever decorated we put the lights on first. So we did switch It up to put the lights on first. We also decided to move the music box and enjoy that all month long since that was also at the end. For the last spot (the 24th) I’m going to make miniature presents to put under the tree. They will represent “what Santa left”. So excited for the 1st of December to start using this and my 10 year old boys are too.

Ordered 3 of these trees for each of my kids (ages 6, 10, 12). And it is a great way to count down the days until Christmas and they love having their “own” tree to decorate throughout the month. I Gave these 4 stars because I would definitely recommend that they change a few things.First would be, to have the string lights be on the 2nd day of opening so that they can enjoy a mini Christmas tree that “Lights up” for the entire month of December. Making each night of Dec feel a little more magical. Instead of having it be in the 24th slot. My kids took their lights out of the 24th slot on the 2nd day because they wanted it lighted all month. It’s no fun to only REALLY enjoy a lighted Christmas tree the night before Christmas. And I would suggest having the “star” be the last thing they put on their tree on the 24thSecond would be to randomize what is in each slot (aside from the string lights and the star) with different items. This is only a problem if you have more than one in your house. Since we have 3 trees, if one opens their “day” before the other, They already know what is in there advent for that day and it kind of ruins the surprise and excitement.Last suggestion, would be to either specify each advent tree ornaments/toys for a boy or girl, or make all of the toys/ornaments gender neutral. My boys weren’t very enthralled to open a day to find that they got a pink/purple beaded, unicorn bracelet. :)Other than those few things, love the idea of this advent and if some changes can be made, we will definitely be ordering these again next year.Hopefully this review makes sense. I bought this set for my five year old daughter. She loves Christmas and I thought it would be so fun for her to have her very own Christmas tree in her room. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box at the quality of the tree and the lights, ornaments, and other display items. She was so so excited when she saw this advent calendar. I have been wanting to find an advent that was creative yet not too expensive. She gets so many sweets during the holidays that the cheap chocolate advents are just not what I wanted anymore. Pictures show the lights and one door of ornaments! I will update review with more pictures once she opens them all through December. In addition to all the fun this brought not one needle has fallen off the tree and it’s very full and just the right height for sitting on her dressing. She likes to fall asleep with the lights on, it’s so sweet. This is definitely something we will treasure together every year, pitting it in her room and decorating together. I like that even when the surprise is over we can use this year after year to decorate her bedroom for Christmas.

Loved it all the way up to point my son discovered he didn’t get a Santa Claus. He was in tears because he thought Santa was mad at him.The quality is really good and I agree with other reviews that the lights should be the in the 2nd box and not the 24th so I just relabeled two boxes but it makes no sense to decorate the entire tree and then put on the lights - who does that?

This is a great gift for yourself or someone else who loves Christmas. Each day of the month has a surprise gift and the whole set comes nicely and neatly packaged. You will be able to use this year after year.

Purchased for our college student for her dorm. Being away from home for most of December I thought this was a fun advent calendar to get. Forms do not have a lot of room so this tree was a perfect size. One thing is the lights are Dec 24 so she changed that and did the lights Dec 2nd.

It's just OK. The tree is not straight in the support and is not too much you can do to adjust it Ornaments are poor quality, some are scratched and one was broken (so far ..still few more to open).

This advent calendar is just the cutest! It made my daughter so happy when she received it and she couldn’t wait to see what she would get each day! The only thing that I would change is the order in which the boxes are labeled. The lights come last and since I had read the reviews, we opened the boxes backwards so we could put the lights on first!
