Too tall. It's rather thin too, thinner than a regular glass, so they could have made it a little wider and shorter and kept the same volume. The glass being too tall has a number of pernicious effects: when you drink out of it, tilting it towards you then back, the liquid will often plop back in your face; it doesn't fit on the top rack of the dishwasher; it doesn't clean as well in the dishwasher, and it's more difficult to clean manually. Also, because it should be a little wider, it doesn't fit as well in cupholders or stay upright in the dishwasher.

I'm obsessed with this bottle. I've been reading recently about ways to effect personal changes - making new habits. A big factor is making small changes in your environment. One writer I encountered actually mentioned getting a water bottle that you love in order to encourage you to drink more water. I have been using a large, sturdy plastic cup, which I didn't enjoy: it had vague stains in it, and plastic doesn't feel the same to your mouth when drinking. I bought this one and I love it:- It's beautiful to look at.- It's glass, so there are no problems with BPAs.- It's sustainable.- It has a heft and design that feels natural to hold.- The cap is solid and secure.- It holds a lot of water and it's still compact (it fits in my car's cup holder).- The rubber grip keeps it in my hand.- The price is reasonable.- It's well-made.I wouldn't take it hiking - it's a little heavy and it is made of glass. But for work and home, it's just right. I'm consuming much more water now, and it's actually a pleasant experience.

The first bottle had chips in the glass, so I had to send it back. The second bottle's cap started rusting after one week. Customer Service got back to me promptly after I reached out and sent a replacement. It's been over 2 weeks and all seems good, happy with the bottle.

We LOVE our Elder bottles! At this point we own 10, and keep a stainless steel rack in the fridge filled with 6 at all times. The extras are so that when we use one, we have a clean one to put back in the fridge. They have worked out great for many different hot and cold beverages, including filtered water, coffee, teas, etc. They are super easy to clean, and even though I'm probably the biggest klutz in the world, I haven't broken a single one yet in the 6 months we have owned these. Not for lack of trying, though! I've knocked them against each other, against the inside of my cast iron sink, against other glassware and dishes in sink, and not a single chip or crack in the bunch! Borosilicate glass is safe, easy to clean, non-porous, and adds no taste or flavor to the beverages in it. I highly recommend these to anyone who is concerned about using plastic water or beverage bottles for health reasons. These Elder Bottles are amazing, and I've never had one leak even a little bit. I always handwash them, and they have worked great since day one.

I was looking for a water bottle that I could keep on my desk that didn't taste like plastic or metal. Even the highest rated plastic and metal water bottles and canteens still make the water taste funny to me. I was able to find some other glass bottles, but they still had a rubber/plastic lid that tinted the taste of the water. This one is great. I needed something with a lid and that was made of glass. My water tastes great and I no longer have to worry about one of my cats accidentally knocking over my water glass and spilling water everywhere. I wouldn't say this is any sort of a travel bottle or would make for good hiking or camping trips. But just something with a lid to sit on my desk that doesn't make the water taste funny? This is perfect. I'm very happy with it.

I love this bottle! A wide mouth that can accommodate any size ice cubes, a nice band around the bottle to keep it from slipping out of your hands, and most of all the cap is stainless steel on the interior, insuring that your drink never comes into contact with plastic. It feels very well made, and has a nice thick bottom to lessen the chance of breakage. Glass is always the best choice for liquids, as it imparts no metallic taste and is totally safe to use.Since my first review above I have just ordered another one. Great bottle that has held up very well, and just getting an extra one because they are SO worth it!

I just ordered my second of these. I searched through Amazon again to see if there is something better out there. There isn't...at least for my needs. The bottle is sleek and can be used anywhere. The opening is like that of a glass. The top is easy on, easy off and stays sealed...no funny tastes. Washed it in the dishwasher with great results. I use this as a night table water glass. The circumfrence fits perfectly in your hand and you can tell when you need to refill the bottle.
