THIS SET IS FANTASTIC!
TOTALLY 5 STARS!The board is beautifully crafted and the pieces look great! My son is very picky and love chess boards and pieces. He wanted a set he could take when travelling, but didn't want plastic cheap looking ones. He selected this and we were very, very pleased when we got it. It definitely surpasses our expectation, particularly considering the price. We got three. I had a problem with one, and wrote to the customer service. They replied promptly, and the problem got fixed beyond my requests. I saw that few reviews express dissatisfaction with the board: I am sure that if they had told the customer service, their board would have been replaced quickly and at no cost. My 3 boards are perfect. I TOTALLY recommend this product! If you have to give it as a gift, it looks way more expensive than it is.

Very Poor! Read this before you buy (In case there is absolutely NO alternative)
Unplayable, literally. The board is defective, the pieces are scratched everywhere. The board doesn't fully flatten up, it actually leaves a size-able gap in the middle, sometimes even enough to knock a pawn out of position. There's also a crack inside the board that bothers me. I honestly expected better for a $20 board, I've played with $5 ones that are better :/

Defective
The board would not open all the way to lie flat and the black paint to draw the lines was smeared. We sent it back for a full refund through Amazon. Good thing we opened it up before wrapping it as a gift!

This is a very nice wooden chess set that is good looking and well put together. I had a slight issue with the first set I received, but the vendor immediately worked with me to resolve the problem. I am extremely happy both with the quality of the set I received and also how the vendor handled my issue.
