The soles have an unnatural shape. I guess they are good shoes though.
Maybe some people like the soles of their shoes forcing their feet into unnatural walking positions. I prefer my shoes to feel like my feet are on the ground barefoot. My past Sanuks were like that. They were as close to being barefoot as I have ever experienced with a shoe. That's why these are slightly disappointing. I do like the shoes, and will wear them. They for me, but cause discomfort to the soles of my feet, and the soles are elevated on the outer edges, forcing my feet to roll inward a bit, which is not comfortable. I will get used to them, but I wish I didn't need to. I don't fault the shoes. What I do fault is the product description from the sellers/manufacturer. Nowhere was I warned that these were not the same as the other Sanuks I have had in the past. There is very little detailed description of any of the Sanuk line. These are not cheap shoes. Come on, do a better job of letting people know what they are buying!!

Still Wearing nearly 3 Years
I am a slip on shoe snob, meaning that I've worn a lot of brands and am very critical on these types of shoes. I've worn the same Sanuks, these, for nearly 3 years. I am flat footed and shoes are always painful. I have worn a lot of these shoes out in a year. Not these. I wear these all day long every single day. They still have not worn through any holes. None. The sole is still good. The rubber inside is shaped like my feet and toes. It is an ultimate fit and ultra comfortable. I got a friend who wears another type of Sanuk with thin soles and they're shot. Holes and falling apart. These have thick soles and thick canvas. So far, after wearing these types of shoes for many years, they're my favorite pair and I'm an expert on these. Usually, I'd be gluing the canvas together long ago or gluing the canvas to the rubber but not these. My friend is switching to these to be like me.

Comfortable and stylish fair weather shoe that holds up well
I already have a pair of these (in a different color) that were purchased a year ago. Those remain comfortable and have held up very well in usage well above their intended purpose of a 'fair weather' casual type shoe. In my experience Sanuk shoes appear to be well made as well as durable. The only downside is the lighter colors can pick up small stains, which can be hard to clean off/remove due to the type of material they're made from. In comparing these new ones to the other pair, the older ones have 'loosened up' quite a bit, almost to a slipper level. The new ones are currently quit snug but it isn't an issue at all. Overall, these are highly recommended.

Concave footbed that curves up at the sides in a weird way
I wanted to like these.I've had the original Vagabonds for many years. The rubber sole has mostly come off, so it's replacement time.I presume that the Tripper soles would stay together better, and I like that the sole doesn't stick out from the sides as it does on the original Vagabonds. The problem is that there's a weird upward curve at the sides of the footbed, noticeable mostly where the shoe is widest, so that the sides of my outer foot bones and toes are forced upwards, to sit higher than the rest of my foot, and it's uncomfortable. I have pretty wide feet but I've never experience this on any other shoe, and Sanuks of all shoes should be accomodating for wide feet. I'm not going to assume that these will get better with age, when all of the shoes I like feel good right from the first wear.I've started the return process. I'm going to try the Rounders model. Maybe Sanuk got that one right.

Colour difference
Hi all.I'm very happy with this shoe overall. The one thing I am disappointed with is the colour. Some months ago, I ordered and received a pair of these shoes - charcoal in colour. Very happy, so I ordered another pair - black in colour. However, they're just a slightly darker shade of charcoal.See the photo. The shoe on the left is my old pair, purchased in Hawaii. They're BLACK. The shoe on the right is one of my new pair, delivered today. This was labelled "black". Hullo !!I'll keep the second new pair as I love the shoe and the fit. Just letting other potential customers know that black ain't black. :-)Kevin

Very Snug and Comfortable
These comfy shoes were a great bargain, and very supportive on days when your on your feet. I like their rugged casual look, but they are also manufactured really well, and I expect will last for years, and become even more comfortable in time. The Sole is flat and one height across which is great for balance and movement, very minimalist but exceptionally strong. Great value.

Just okay...
These are like more of a 3.5*... They aren't as comfortable to start with as other Sanuk's, even the upper is a bit more stiff than expected. I can't speak to the longevity of them yet, which is one of the primary reasons to buy the rubber soled ones... Wouldn't re-buy, but don't think I'd go back to their other shoes either since I only seem to get about a year out of them.
