KiwiGrip is a revolutionary, durable, non-skid coating that spreads quickly and easily with an included proprietary roller, offering a beautiful, high traction surface. By varying the application technique, the texture can be adjusted from a rolled "pleasure boat" texture to an industrial aggressive "work boat" texture. As a homogeneous material, KiwiGrip does not suffer from the problems encountered with products filled with sand, walnut shells, beads, rubber fleck, or other fillers. Coatings with fillers tend to wear through, and the fillers fall out leaving an unsafe deck that's hard to clean and even harder to re-coat. KiwiGrip is available in five beautiful stock colors, but is also easily tinted to custom pastel colors.

Great product, read for tips *
Used this on my 21' center console. Take your time with the taping! You will be glad you did. Make sure you sand or scour any surfaces before applying and wipe with Acetone just before you apply.I went with the "white" and had it tinted at the local paint store. Very easy to do and did not disrupt the consistency of the product. The guy in the paint dept had some concerns about how to classify the paint to give it the appropriate tint amount and determined that running it as an exterior deck paint ( similar to a NuDeck product ) would work the best. It did.Be generous with the amount you put on before rolling. The roller is only used to generate the desired texture, not for application. Go too thin and you will see small spots with no product when dried. Make sure when you are done rolling and have reached the desired texture that there are no small air bubbles. They will pop and look funny. I say all this just to be mindful, it is a very forgiving product and doable for a DYIer.

Measure carefully and order twice as much as you think.
If you are replacing the carpet in your fishing boat you might want to think about this product. I have a 16 foot Polar Craft with a half console that is twelve years old. I could not measure exactly so took a chance on the smallest container and got the grey color. The color may have a grey tint but looks white when dry. The small can did do the whole floor but I had to squeeze out the last drops to finish and I did not cover as thick as you should. I ended up getting a second can and by accident got black. I decided to use it anyway because the grey looks like primer on this boat. (tan) The black does look better and this time I put a better coat on the floor and textured it with the included roller the way you should. I do have a little left in the can this time so have some for touch up.This product does look like thick paint but has a nice non slip texture when dry. It does dry fairly fast even when you use it in sixty degree temperatures like I did. If you use it when it's hot you better go fast or you won't be able to texture it when dry. The jury is still out on how tough and durable it is. I am writing this to give you guys an idea on how much to get and how to use it. I did sand and seal the wood before I painted this on. I painted it on with an brush and then rolled the texture in. The roller does not take paint like a normal roller. Looks good and should wash down easily. We will see how it lasts. More to come. Great stuff.
Water wash cleanup, no odors. Easy to apply and get as much or as little texture as you need. Use a fine foam roller to spread it out, and then their included texture roller to get as much texture as you want.Done two areas now, and found something out. You probably want to spread the material out with a v-notched trowel for really uniform results. If you apply a thin layer, and then roll the texture roller over it, you will get a fairly smooth result, i.e. good for bare flesh. If you want a more aggressive finish, you do everything the same way, same texture roller, but you need to start with a much THICKER amount of material. This allows it to get picked up further into the texture roller, and results in the rougher texture. Don't skimp on the v-notch trowel, they're cheap enough and they make for very consistent results in this work.

Colors not as labeled for 'grey'
The product works but the roller can be tricky to use to get the desired height, it also clogged easily. The main complaint is that the grey is very light in color and stains / shows marks really easily.

My only complaint is it stains really easily. Don't let fish guts or blood dry or ...
I was a little skeptical given the fact it's water based. It has proven to be very strong and adhered well to the floor of my boat. I found the easiest way to apply is just wear a glove and slap it on and smooth it out with your hand. It's messy but trust me, it works. My only complaint is it stains really easily. Don't let fish guts or blood dry or you might not get it out.

Nice product. Held up this summer so far
I ripped up all the nasty stinky carpet and prepped the floor and painted down the kiwi grip. It went on easy with the roller and dried in about 8 hours. it is tacky and has good grip when out in the sun on the water. On the colder, cloudy days, it can be a tad less trippy when completely wet. Overall I am happy to just be able to hose down the floor from all the spilled drinks and beer

Very good product, follow the video tutorial
Finally tested the product today and followed the video for best application and it works great. Structure looks good, I paint professionally in Florida and.recommend to avoid brushing in direct sunlight or when too hot because it will leave long brush marks. The roller works perfectly and leaves a great result on the finish, very happy with the product and result. Will test tomorrow how it handles when wet(rain) if slippery.

Fantastic product. Easy to apply and can get tinted any color.
Fantastic product. Super easy to apply and with a little practice you can get light to heavy texture. I ordered white and took it to my local Sherwin Williams store and they tinted it Desert Sand for no charge. It's in a metric sized can so will not fit in the bucket type paint shakers but if you can find a store with the older clamp in style not a problem.
