Kitchen Pepper Mill Solid Wood Body with Adjustable Grinder, 5-Inch, SLZRTY02

got this bad boy and was pretty happy - got a bag of peppercorns and was off! i was doing coarse grinding, fine grinding, i was just a pepper grinding machine! then it came time for my first 'refill'. i popped open the top like i had done for the initial fill, sloppily got peppercorns all over the floor with a few into the chamber, screwed the top back on, and was off again! oh wait... no. the entire mechanism seemed to have stopped grinding. i am admittedly a spazz, so i took the thing apart, swallowed my pride and asked for the wise counsel of my wife, and alas, she was also unable to solve the problem. all of the pieces were in place, the parts cleaned, and still no grinding.the part that' s a real bummer is that it came with a "one year warranty"; i reached out to the company a few weeks ago, and have not yet heard a response. i ended up buying a grinder from OXO that i'm sure will last more than 2 months. not the end of the world for a ~$10 product, but didn't meet expectations.

It's a pepper mill. Nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't produce SUPER rough crack, at its coarsest it's still a medium grind, so if you need rough cracked pepper for something like steak au poivre, a mortar & pestle is still your #1 bet. But it spits out pepper like a madman and the grind is VERY consistent, it doesn't get bound up or struggle to bring peppercorns down into the teeth, the fit and finish is good (not perfect, but this isn't asking much money) and it does exactly what it needs to - grind pepper quickly and consistently. the action is very smooth and pleasant to use, too.

Product did not grind pepper well. It took a lot of effort for unrealistic pepper. The pepper seemed to bounce around inside the mill and made a terrible screeching noise, wood rubbing against wood. When I tried to return I was not able to.

For the price, it can't be beat. I also wanted something a little old fashioned and restaurant-y looking.

Oh Well! Too much effort for too little output. Maybe I would be satisfied if I didn't have a quality mill to compare it to and the color I received is not at all the dark tone pictured. This is one of those times when you get what you pay for.

I had bought a grinder from the local grocery store and it didn't grind my pepper. I took it back and a new replacement grinder didn't grind my peppercorns. OH NO! Gimme my 20 bucks back! They looked at me and my bag of little peppercorns and agreed to refund my money! I ordered this one for less money, and it grinds my little peppercorns very nicely with a few twists! I also like the non toxic ceramic mechanism! Thanks!

We love it! Great quality and perfect size., Not too big and not too small. The color is perfect too, not too dark for our decor and too light, it's like an oak color and it matches all the wood trim and cabinets in the house. Easy to fill and adjust to grind course, med, or fine. We are all very pleased! Best value for a professional looking mil

I liKe the grind of the pepper not too fine but not too chunky. It's kind of in the middle and I like that. You can't adjust the grind i don't think. and the bottom gear is made of metal and plastic so I wonder how long it will last. But we have had it for about a little more than a month and I like it so far. Time will tell...it always does.
