Good read.
I liked this book. Nights when I couldn't sleep, I'd read then I couldn't put the book down because it was so interesting. Many years ago insane asylums were as bad as this book portrays. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a glimpse into the past.

Short stories
It was a good grouping of asylum stories from the nutters to the orderlies. All were pretty well written and made for easy reading some were scary and some were straight out of the twilight zone.

Not what I expect up happy with it
It's stories of criminally insane people from thier own point of view. Not what I expect up happy with it.

What a great way to spend a couple of long nights
To be upfront, one of my own stories is featured in this collection. That being said, what an impressive collection the rest of these stories are. What a great way to spend a couple of long nights.

When I bought this book I thought it would be ...
When I bought this book I thought it would be true stories from real life experiences in mental asylums and hospitals. It is actually all fictional ! Lots of blood thirsty tales of ill treatment, self harm, suicide and murder all the way through it seems. So not much variety ! Whoever wrote these stories does not know much about real mental asylums or hospitals. It is for horror story enthusiasts I suppose. As I work in the field of NHS mental health in the UK I found this book particularly distasteful.

Disappointing read on a subject that I know too much about.
I read this book when I was doing research on my own (If asylum walls could speak) and was rather disappointed at the poverty of detail. I wouldn’t read it again.
