The One
Most of the books on Streisand concentrate on her turbulent personal life and her difficult professional personality, but this one is a serious, witty, spot-on critique of her career: recordings, films, tv, theatre. Like her character in "Nuts", she can be a pain in the ass, but heavens, the girl can sing; a fine actress too, and a gifted director. This book is an absolute must for anyone who admires Streisand the artiste. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Living legend?
Bearing in mind Streisand has been around for many years to date, this is a surprisingly meagre tome.It is however an accurate and informative objective on her life and I enjoyed reading it. I am pretty well versed in Streisand's career and even I found out one or two things I didn't know. Writing a book about this enigmaticstar was never going to be easy, but here is an accomplished, if concise effort. Worth a look definitely.
