Fit my 2010 prius - despite no fitting guides.
you gotta have big brass ones to put this thing on your car with no instructions.Luckily I got them.Cut them to the second hole with a hack saw (about 8 inches, I think), curved them over my knee to match the curve of my roof. Marked off the locations with the blue painters tape, 4.5" from the front, and marked them from the top. drilled holes, (careful not to punch thru the headliner) in the first 2, middle 2 and the last 2. I'd avoid the 5th hole, I kinda ran into the support after i drilled the hole, but I made it work. The tool to install the plusnuts sucks, I think that's why they give you two. it continually broke with use, luckily the last tool broke with the last part after I was done. I was really lucky. You'll need:PaintDrill bitcenter punchblue painters tapea sharpietape measuredrilla couple of wrenchesa set of allen keysand big brass balls.good luck.

Beware of the PlusNuts
I don't normally write reviews, but I felt like I had to on this one. I installed these racks on a 1989 Bronco II. My vehicle was not in the fit guide instructions provided, so I emailed Yakima directly. They replied that this product is no longer supported by them and they could not give me the correct measurements or drill locations for my vehicle. So I decided to wing it. I had no problems with the drill locations My major complaint is the hardware that it came with. The tool that they give you sucks. Broke both of them on the first PlusNut. But I don't believe that it's the tool that's the problem, its the actual PlusNuts themselves. You can see where they are supposed to be perforated to allow for it to flower out when you are adding pressure with the tool, but it seems that they came unperforated causing them to just bend instead of crushing properly, thus breaking the tool. Maybe I just had a bad batch of hardware, I'm not sure. So after breaking both of the tools on one nut I decided to take a trip to Home Depot and buy some hollow wall anchors and use them instead. I had to grind off the PlusNut that went in half way, because it was loose and not seated properly. They went in much cleaner, faster, and performed the same function. Here is the link if you are interested - http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-6-32-x-1-in-Zinc-Plated-Hollow-Wall-Anchor-with-Truss-Head-Combo-Drive-Screw-5-Pieces-00469/202187091Overall in the end the install was a success and works well with the control towers. Everything is secure and it holds up the Yakima MegaWarrior rack that I have mounted on it at highway speeds no problem. I gave it 3 stars because of the cost of the product and such shoddy hardware. Bottom line, great concept and option for a bare roof, but really crappy hardware. Open the box and toss the hardware or you will risk getting one of them stuck in your roof. Hope this review helped.

Best system for a vehicle with no factory rack
This rack (or Thule's similar one) is the best option I'm aware of for vehicles that don't come with a roof rack. A few things to keep in mind:- You have to drill holes in your roof- This part (the track) never comes off once you put it onPluses:- Professional look- Secure (strong)- Package comes with drill bit & silicone sealant- Flexible enough to conform to most roofs. I installed these on a Prius; if they fit that shape, they should fit most vehicles. I pre-bent the rails to reduce stress on the bolts.- The expanding nuts (PlusNuts) are great; they go in easily and securelyMinuses- No fit guides for current vehicles- Many current vehicles have curtain airbags, so you'll want to peek under the headliner to find them & not drill into them. I didn't have to drop the headliner, only peek under the edges.- You have to be comfortable with tools (drill, measuring tape, etc. ), or you'll make a mess

Solid as a rock
This results in a much nicer rack set-up than raingutter or door mount. It's a more permanent solution, yet the tracks aren't that noticeable once the rack is removed (which is quick and simple). These tracks are more flexible and have better attachment hardware that cheaper alternatives (plusnuts vs. screws). To be fair, Thule also seems good. I was nervous about drilling holes in the roof, but it wasn't that bad. You do need to follow instructions carefully, and realize that recommended hole locations aren't available for all vehicles (I found out that right over the door column isn't the best choice). A depth limiter (other than tape on the bit) is important, and a drill guide (to keep the bit from sliding and perpendicular) would be helpful. Even with an indentation from a punch, the bit still can slide. The end result - a 3000 mile trip with a fully loaded hardshell cartop carrier, no leaks, and completely solid. I'm very pleased with these tracks, and with Yakima customer service.
